Chapter 21

Iris POV
"Dad" I said looking at them man in front of me, It had been so long since i had seen him. He looked different, When we left he had red swollen eyes, his face was a mess and he smelt of sweat as he never showered. Now he looked well he looked great, He was wearing jeans and a shirt, his face was clean shaved and his hair was combed back. He was holding a bunch of flowers in his hands.

"Hello, Honey could i speak to you?" He said calmly like walking back into someones life after this long was ok. Anger rushed through me and i felt sick that he thought he could do something like this. I felt like throwing a punch at him, the way he used to throw them at mum. Wait - Mum did she know he was back? I just realised how long it had been since i'd gone home.

"Iris, Is something wrong!" I heard Chase shout down the stairs, Crap what was i supposed to say.

"Ye-Yeah It's fine!" I shouted but i realised how pathetic i sounded, there was no way he was falling for that and sure enough two seconds later he was running down the stairs and standing next to me. He was searching my face for signs of distress and then he looked at my dad. Instantly his face hardened and his eyes darkened with anger, I could see his fist clench and his knuckles turned white.

"WHat the hell do you want?" He said stopping after every word failing to keep his anger in. My dad stayed calm and he even had a hint of a smirk on his face.

"I want to see  my daughter, I want to speak to her." Then he looked at Chase in the face and said "Alone."

Chase immediately shook his head, "Hell No!, You want to speak to her. Then i'm not going unless she tells me to"

I looked at his face smiling but he was holding my father's gaze. I moved my hand to hold his and he held it tightly.

My Dad sighed and said, "Fine, Iris firstly i am sorry. I know my actions destroyed your childhood but you have to know i'm a changed person. I made mistakes and i'm here to atone for them. So can i have the chance?"

I was confused, I didn't know what to do, On one hand he had made our lives hell but he was still my dad. I looked up "I don't know, I need time to decide", When i said that i saw my dad's eyes darken with anger but it went quickly. That was wierd.

"Of course" He said and handed me the flowers. "Goodbye Iris", then he turned around and walked off.

Chase closed the door and held me closely, what shoud i do?

Paul (Iris's Dad) POV

What have i done?

"Well done" the voice came from inside my ear, My fists clenched in anger as she laughed.

"Now Now Darling I only want her dead" She said laughing.
