I woke up bright and early to the sound of my alarm.
I swatted at it and shut it off.
It's Monday.I got dressed and brushed my hair, then my teeth.
I grabbed my backpack, put on my shoes, and headed out the door to get on my bike.My school is only about 5 minutes away, so I didn't mind riding my bike.
I arrived at school and put my bike on the bike rack.
"Hey, Bianca, over here!" I heard someone call my name as I was walking in.
I looked up and saw Ophelia running over to me.
"Hii!" I replied, excitedly.
"Where were you yesterday? I went by your house on my bike and your mom was outside, so I asked her if you were there and she said no. Then, I called you about 4:30 and you didn't pick up."
"Oh, sorry. I was over at Krystal's, she's teaching me to play guitar. When I get really good, I wanna start a band or something." I told her.
"That's so cool! Can I be in your band? My dad has a guitar in the basement, and I know how to play a bit."
"Sure!" I said, smiling.
We then walked to class together.I sat in first period, occasionally gazing out the window, wishing school would be over so I could go to Krystal's and practice guitar.
Playing guitar was all that occupied my thoughts lately.Eventually, the bell rang for lunch.
I sat down in between Ophelia and Krystal.
"Bianca, have you learned to play any songs yet?" Ophelia asked.
"No, but after school, I'm going to Krystal's to practice the chords a bit more then maybe try to play a song."
"Cool. Krystal, can I come too?" Ophelia said, looking at Krystal.
"Yeah, sure. But I only have 2 guitars, so we might have to share." Krystal stated.
"Actually, my dad has a guitar that I can bring."
Krystal nodded.-Time Skip-
School was finally over.
Me and Krystal headed to her house, while Ophelia headed home to get her dad's guitar.
We made it there and Ophelia wasn't too far behind.
We went upstairs and sat in a small circle with our guitars.
Ophelia's guitar:
"So, Bianca, Ophelia told me you said something about starting a band?" Krystal asked me.
"Yeah, I mean, only if you guys want to."
They both nodded.
"Well, then, what should we call it?" I asked.
"It's up to you." Krystal said.
"Yeah, you pick." Ophelia added.
I thought for a second.
"What about.. Rhythms of Rebellion." I suggested.
"I love it!!" Krystal said.
"Me too! Did you come up with that on the spot?" Ophelia asked.
"Well, since I knew I wanted to start a band someday, I'd been thinking about a name for a few months now. And that's what I came up with."
"It's great." Ophelia said, earning a smile from me."Now, shall we get to practicing?" Krystal asked.
"We shall." I replied, picking up my guitar pick.
"Ophelia, show me what you know."
Ophelia attempted to play a few chords but ultimately failed, as she hadn't played in forever.
"Okay, it seems we have some work to do." Krystal said.-Time Skip-
After about an hour and a half of Krystal helping Ophelia and me practicing by myself, we were maybe ready to start learning to play a song.
"Bianca, since you're our band leader, you decide the song we play." Krystal stated.
"Can I choose anything?"
"Yep."
I thought for a moment, before deciding on 'Sweet Child O' Mine' by Guns N' Roses.
"This is gonna be hard." Ophelia sighed.
"No, actually, this one's easier than you think." Krystal reassured her.
Krystal started to play the song and I studied her fingers closely.
Me and Ophelia tried to play the first few notes, slowly.
"See, you guys have got it down!" Krystal said, amazed.
Krystal wrote down the chords and gave them to us.
I had the song down, and Ophelia wasn't too far behind. All 3 of us played the song and I sang.
It was the most fun I'd had in my entire life.
