The whole school day all I could think about was the audition.
I was excited yet very nervous. After school, the 3 of us went to Krystal's house to practice one last time, then went back to school about 2:50.
Krystal noticed me fidgeting with my fingers and knew I was nervous.
"Bianca, it's gonna be okay." she said, putting her hand on my shoulder.
I looked up at her and nodded. After about 15 minutes of waiting in line, sweating bullets, it was finally our turn.
We walked up on stage and got into our places. I was in the middle with Krystal to my left and Ophelia to my right.
I stared at the judges. They were our principal, vice principal, guidance counselor, and band teacher.I brought the microphone closer to me, then started to speak.
"Hi, my name is Bianca, these are my friends, Krystal and Ophelia, and we're Rhythms of Rebellion! And we're gonna be performing 'Dead Man's Party' by Oingo Boingo."
I counted down from 3 then we started to play.
I just tried to imagine the judges weren't there, as acknowledging them would probably make me mess up.We finished the song and I'd say we did pretty good.
We bowed, then walked off stage. After the audition, we went back to Krystal's to practice a bit more.
I ended up going home about 5.
I had dinner and went to bed early. The whole night I laid in bed thinking about the contest, and how I was gonna tell my parents about it, since it was at 8pm and you had to come with a parent or guardian.
-Time Skip-
It was now Thursday. When me, Krystal, and Ophelia walked into class this morning, the teacher told us we got accepted into the contest. Other than that, the school day was boring.
We didn't practice after school since I had to go straight home and do chores and Ophelia had to go shopping with her parents. After my chores were done, I went to the kitchen to find my parents.
"Mom, dad, uh.. me, Krystal, and Ophelia have been working on something special for the last few days. And at school tomorrow, there is a contest at 8pm in the gym, for people to sing, dance, or play an instrument, and we are participating. Since it's after dark, I need you guys to take me, please."
"Of course we'll take you. What type of performance are you guys doing?" my dad asked.
"Well, you see, that's the thing. It's a surprise. Like I said, we were working on something special. So, you'll have to wait and see tomorrow."
"Great, I can't wait." he replied.
"Yeah, it sounds fun." my mom said, stirring a pot of spaghetti sauce.
I gave a nervous smile then went up to my room. What were they gonna think.
What were they gonna say.
Am I gonna be grounded forever?
This is a bad idea.
So many thoughts ran through my head.I stared at my wall until dinner was ready.
I went down and ate, then got ready for bed so I could be all rested up for my big event tomorrow.
