It went to hell just as the carriage had come into view for her. There was a scream in one of the buildings, and then people started to run. "w-what's happening?!" Lumine clung onto Cimmarian, startling her yet again. "Something is happening! We gotta get out of here before we get caught up in the crowd!" Cimmarian tried to tug Lumine along, but it was already too late. The panic had set in, and the people were running for their lives. Cimmarian was knocked off her feet and lost Lumine in the rush to get away. "Lumine?! LUMINE!!!" She couldn't let that kid get trampled and turned to dust! Cimmarian tried. She tried to find the Sun Princess, but there wasn't a glimpse of yellow in the crowd. Instead, she found herself facing another problem. The carriage, her way back home to the Moon Empire, was leaving. "WAIT!" She ran after it. "WAIT! DON'T LEAVE ME! I'M HERE!!!" Cimmarian couldn't outrun a horse, though. She was just a kid, and they had no idea she was ever here. For the first time, Cimmarian found herself alone in the world. No retainers, no family, no papa.

Lumine had hidden under one of the abandoned food stalls to get away from the people. It could have been scarier, honestly. Lumine was... used to being alone. Having a friend with her, for as short a period as it was, had been very nice. She'd even heard her trying to find her over the roar of the people, which made her feel good. When the silence pursued, Lumine came out of hiding. The square was empty, and any trace of people gone. Her papa was probably searching desperately for her, yet... yet she could hear hiccuping. Quiet stuttery breaths of someone in need of a little POSITIVITY. Lumine couldn't leave them without trying to help. She followed the sound of the cries to an alleyway where she spotted the other skeleton from earlier. Lumine approached her and sat next to her before hugging her. "hey, hey... it's ok, cimmarian... you're gonna be ok... i've got you now..." Lumine eased as she willed her magic to do its thing with the other. "I-I'm a-alone... th-they left..." Cimmarian whispered, and Lumine continued to simply pet her. "but i'm here, aren't i? which means you're not alone!" Lumine reassured.

The girls sat like that for a while, while Cimmarian calmed down. Lumine started to hum at some point, which had but Cimmarian's soul at ease. "... you seem a lot like your dad... from what I heard of him, anyway..." Cimmarian mumbled quietly. Lumine chuckled. "i hope so... i wanna help everyone, just like him! just..." She paused and shook her head. "you seem to be feeling better... he could help you get home?" Cimmarian shook her skull, looking panicked. "No- N-No! You can't!" Lumine frowned softly. "but... but he can help? we can get you home, cimmarian-"
"NO! Don't you get it? Can't you feel it? I'm the Princess of the Moon Empire, his worst enemy! I can't ask for his help!" Lumine frowned softly as Cimmarian stood up. She quickly joined her fellow Princess. "why does that matter? you never did anything bad." Lumine pointed out, and Cimmarian froze. "W-Well... he could... use me against my father..." She mumbled. "you were crying, cimmarian... he would never hurt a child in distress..." Lumine reached for Cimmarian's hand, and the younger princess didn't push away. "... fine... take me to your father, lumine..." Cimmarian finally agreed.
