The Last Night in the Sun

The next day was a relief for Cimmarian. Lumine had recovered from the negative spell, and the girls did lessons together, Ink acting as if it was normal to have both girls. As if Cimmarian just fit in with the Sun Kingdom. Afterward, the girls played tag in the halls, chasing each other and laughing. It was nice to have a friend her age. Cimmarian couldn't have happier with Lumine. That made Dream happy. But... he knew it wouldn't last. The letter he'd gotten this morning proved as much. Nightmare wanted to meet Dream personally to get Cimmarian back. It would be a peaceful meeting for once. Just for the day. Then, no doubt, it was back to feuding as usual and causing chaos along the borders. He knew Lumine would be devastated once he told them. Cimmarian might be saddened, too. But if he didn't return her, who knew what Nightmare would do to their mother? He sighed gently and went to prepare for tomorrow's carriage ride. He decided that he would inform them at dinner... just let them have their fun a little while longer. Stars knows the twins needed it before they were separated again.

Cimmarian took the news in stride, bowing her head a little in respect to the lord of the kingdom. "Thank you very much, Lord Dream. I will be ready." Lumine, however, looked dismayed and a little saddened. "we can't keep her a little longer?" She asked as she looked to her father, then Cimmarian, then her father again. "i'm sorry, lumine. but princess cimmarian has her own duties in her own kingdom to fulfill." Dream replied, willing for Lumine to understand. She did, but that certainly didn't mean that she liked it. "Hey, perhaps I can visit again?" Cimmarian suggested, not wanting the negative sickness to set in again. (Stars knew that one sick princess was enough, and her stomach was still knotting from the excessive positivity from earlier. However, she could pretend she was feeling well until they were to sleep tonight.) "Or maybe you can visit me! We can make a day of it!" Cimmarian suggested which perked Lumine right up. "you're right! maybe your father will let me sleep over one of these times!" Dream swallowed thickly, not liking this new idea they had in their heads. What if he lost Lumine as he'd lost Blue?

As soon as they retired to Lumine's room, Cimmarian disappeared in the bathroom down the hall. She felt weaker, trying to hold herself together for Lumine's sake. She didn't want her friend to think it was her fault she was sick. After a night's rest, she was certain she would be alright. She just had to get to the bedroom first on her wobbly limbs. "-their mother would want them together, no matter what." Cimmarian didn't think much of the conversation happening within what she guessed was Dream's Study. "if there is a chance to get blue back alive, i will take it. even if it means sending cimmarian back to nightmare." Cimmarian blinked as her father's name registered in her mind. What had he done? "you know it will be harder to keep them apart now, my lord. now that the twins know of each other, trying to keep them and their mother safe will be harder than ever." Classic warned. Dream sighed heavily. "... i know... but it is for them that we need to keep blue alive. the twins need their mother."
"we haven't found nightmare's dungeons, even after all this time." Ink pointed out.

Cimmarian didn't realize shed gotten closer to the study until her legs gave out just outside the door and her body thumped against it, slamming the door closed as she panted weakly and tried to scramble away. She looked up at the three adults as they scampered out to see who it was. Dream looked terrified to see her there and Classic sighed sighed, going to pick her up. "feeling a little sick, are we? come on, kiddo, let's get you into bed and resting. i'll get you a puke bucket or something." Cimmarian nodded quietly as she was carried away. She watched as Ink turned to Lord Dream. "i don't think she heard a thing." Dream gave Ink a skeptical look. Cimmarian wanted to know more. More about this mother in the dungeon and more about her and Lumine. Were... were they really twins..?
