CHAPTER 6: Are you really like this?

NADIA's POV

I groaned in irritation when I felt someone shake me by the shoulder. I wanted to sleep more but looked like the person who was waking me up doesn't want to let me continue sleeping.

"Hmmm." I groaned again and then pushed his hand from me. I heard him laugh.

"Looks like you enjoy lying here in my arms that much, huh?" He whispered and I felt him stroke my hair gently. I opened my eyes and realized that I was indeed in his arms, lying on top of him, and using his hard chest as my pillow.

I couldn't believe that I actually fell asleep in his arms. He's a stranger for crying out loud but my body was acting as if he's not. How could I sleep peacefully like that? I've never been this at ease in the company of a stranger before.

I chewed on my bottom lip and looked around. We were still on the couch, lying there like lovers. My cheeks heated up. Just thinking that our household helpers might've seen us in this position was so embarrassing already.

"Shut up." I answered and he chuckled. I pulled away from him and sat up.

"Did you have a good nap?" I looked at the wall clock and realized that it was already 1 pm.

"It's past 1 pm already?!"

"Yes. I wanted to wake you up when Carol came here to call us for lunch but I didn't want to disturb your sleep. You looked like a sleeping baby." I felt my cheeks blushing even more.

"Carol saw us?" He smiled suavely.

"Yes, sweetie baby. Even her daughter saw us a while ago." My eyes widened.

"Tanya?!" He smirked.

"Yes. I think that's her name." I covered my face with my hands because of embarrassment. He laughed full of amusement.

"Don't worry. I told them to pretend that they didn't see anything." I glared at him but he just smirked. I could see his eyes sparkling playfully. I sneered at him and then stood up.

"Whatever." I was about to march my way out of there when Carol appeared out of nowhere.

"Ms. Nadia, Mr. Savela, your lunch is prepared." She informed us.

"Okay, Carol. Thank you." She nodded her head and then left. I looked at Ackier. He was still sitting on the sofa with a merry expression on his face.

"Go to the dining room and eat lunch." I said and then marched my way towards the grand staircase.

"Hey, where do you think you're going? Aren't you going to eat lunch with me?" My steps came to a halt. I looked back over my shoulder.

"I'm not hungry." I lied. Truth to be told; I'm already hungry. He raised an eyebrow at me.

"Really? I don't buy it." My eyes turned into slits in annoyance.

"I said, I am not hungry!" I snapped at him childishly and it was already too late when I realized that I was acting like one. To my horror, my stomach suddenly growled because of hunger and Ackier clearly heard it. He laughed.

"Yeah, right. You're not hungry but your stomach says the opposite. You still haven't changed. You always say the opposite of what you really feel." He stood up and approached me. I didn't look back but stayed on my spot like a statue.
