3rd POV
The days leading up to Halloween were flying by rapidly. Therefore Olivia's birthday was just around the corner.
The triplets had everything planned. Each of them had a different task so that the whole process would move quicker.
Nick was in charge of decorating the house. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Spider webs, little pumpkins, creepy masks and little ghosts. You name it, he has it all. And to top it all of, he got multiple bats to hang up due to their vampire inside jokes.
Chris was on "Invite duty" as he likes to call it. He made a list with their friends and people who Olivia has interacted before. They didn't want this to be a big party. They wanted to make this day special since it was Olivia's first Halloween, because in Romania they don't celebrate it. So he made a group chat with Nate, Madi, Jay, Tara, Sam, Colby, Jake, Johnnie, Larray and Quenlin. He didn't have Marium's number but he really hoped that she would show up.
Matt was the one dealing with the snacks and drinks that they would be serving. He made sure to get her favourites and he even did some research on some Romanian food that he was determined to make for her. He also got Liv a chocolate cake since it's her favorite. Besides the food, Matt had another task, and that was to keep Olivia away from their house when the guests arrive. Luckily, he had everything planned out.
Matt's POV
"Well well well, if it isn't the birthday girl!" Matt said smiling at his phone when Olivia answered the FaceTime call.
"Matt, what are you doing up at.....at EIGHT THIRTY IN THE MORNING?!" she asked me. Damn she's grumpy when she wakes up.
"Good morning to you too and happy birthday!" I said making her smile.
"Thank you Matt, but you still didn't answer my question. Why are you awake so early?" she asked me again.
"I just wanted to call and tell you to get ready, cause we are going to get breakfast to start the day right." I told her.
"Oh my god you're too sweet. Where are we going?"
"That's for me to know and for you to find out." I said, not letting her know the place I picked.
"Come on Matt, how am I supposed to know what to wear?" she whined, but I knew she was doing that just so I would give in and tell her.
"You just need to do what you've been doing everyday since we've met. And that is to look pretty." I said and I swear she blushed a little bit.
"Bye Matt!"
"I'll come get you in an hour!" I said right before she hung up.
She always gets flustered when someone compliments her and I think it's the most adorable thing ever.
One hour later I knocked on her door and when she opened it I swear my breath caught in my throat.
I couldn't say anything. I was just staring at her. Admiring her. Her hair was half up half down, a claw clip holding it in place. Her makeup was subtle, only enhancing the already beautiful features on her face. She was wearing a 2 piece set which consisted of a floral top and a matching skirt and white converse.
"What? Is something wrong with my outfit?" she asked me, and I knew she was second guessing her choices.
"No, nothing's wrong. I thought you're gonna look pretty, not drop dead gorgeous. But hey, who am I to complain?" I said, a wave of boldness coming over me.
When I saw the pink on her cheeks slightly deepen, I gave her a small smirk. As soon as she realised I saw her blushing, she walked past me straight to the car.
"Come on Matthew we have places to be." she said, getting in the passenger seat.
I took a few shortcuts on our way to our destination and at a red light I turned to Olivia.
"We're almost there so I'm gonna need you to put this on." I said and smiled innocently.
"Really Matt? A blindfold?" she asked me in a somewhat amused tone.
"Yes Livi, now put it on." I said in a more serious tone.
She did as I said and 5 minutes later I parked the car. I got out and rushed to the other side to open her door and help her get out safely.
"Okay, take it of." I told her and when she did, her eyes filled with joy.
"Oh my god, really? The place that we've met?" she asked, turning to face me.
"Yes, I even made sure to get the same table we sat at the last time we went here." I said and smiled. She caught me off guard with a really tight hug, in which I didn't waste any second to hug her back.
"You are literally the best. This is so sweet Matt." she said, looking up at me but still not letting go.
"Anything for you Livi." I said, looking at her.
We made our way inside and we sat down at out table. We ordered our food and drinks and started talking about anything and everything. That's what I like about her. We never run out of things to talk about. And if we do, the silence is never awkward.
After we were done, I paid, ignoring the girl insisting on splitting the check. It's her birthday! If she thinks I'm letting her pay then she's dead fucking wrong.
I needed to kill some more time, so we ended up just driving around for a few hours, stopping at McDonald's once when we got hungry.
As we were driving back to her place, I knew that I had to make sure she doesn't leave her house.
"Hey, I have a question for you." I said turning the music down so we wouldn't have to yell.
"I'm all ears." Olivia said, looking at me.
"Can I come to your place to get ready? Chris is acting like a little bitch because I accidentally woke him up today when I was going to the garage and I want to give him some time to chill out." I told her, hoping she'd buy it.
"Oh god, is Chris on that time of the month?" she asked making both of us laugh.
"Yeah, I guess so. So, would it be okay?" I asked her again.
"Of course Matt! You can come over whenever you want, you don't have to ask." she told me.
"Thank you!" I said as I parked the car in her driveway. "I just have to go and get my stuff. I'll be right back!" I said as we both got out of the car.
"Okay, I'll wait for you inside. Just let yourself in." Livi replied as we both started walking to our own houses.
