ISABELLA HOUSTON SAT ON HER BALCONY WHICH ADJOINED TO HER ROOM ENJOYING THE SUNSET, the sun glimmered on her face. It was at that part of the evening it was quiet most and peaceful. Just Isabella, her book, the sunset and unfortunately Otis. The girl loved him with her whole heart but him being in her presence every hour of the day was rather exhausting. Both teenagers grew up together since birth and they were always there for each other.

Anastasia Houston worked in the comfort industry part of District one and was always paid well which meant the mother-daughter duo always did something nice, with maybe Otis, at the end of the month. Isabella never knew her father but she was happy enough with just her mother. You wouldn't believe that Isabella was the daughter of the wealthy and well know Anastasia Houston because of many reasons, one being that they did not look alike one bit.

Isabella didn't have many friends except from Otis. And quite frankly, Isabella wanted to keep it that way. She wasn't a massive fan of people. Whenever someone her age would try and talk to her, she would cringe and most of the time, run away from the situation.

"Hey, I over heard-" Otis began as Isabella shut her book.

"Eaves dropping" Isabella corrected.

"Either way, the peace keepers are coming. The reaping begins tomorrow" Otis explained.

"What? Your joking, so soon?" Isabella spoke as her eyes widened as Otis shook his head somewhat excitingly.

"Bella boo! I'm home!" Isabella's mother hollered as she heard the front door close which was impressive since the front door was downstairs and Isabella's room was on the top floor.

"Wow she's like a demon, you can hear her from upstairs" Otis shuddered as he walked into Isabella's room.

Following him inside, Isabella still hadn't recovered from cringing at her mother's use of nicknames.

"Hey that's my mother your talking about" Isabella smiled slightly as she opened her elegant bedroom door and carefully walked down the stairs, leaving an echo ever step she took from her red heels.

"There's my beautiful daughter!" Anastasia Houston beamed as she enveloped her cringing daughter in a hug.

Letting go of her mother, Isabella fired questions at her immediately as Otis trudged down the stairs.

"Hey mom, a certain birdie told me that the peace keepers are back-" Isabella began.

"Honey I'm going to stop you there." Anastasia spoke as she pressed a finger to her daughter's lips. "That 'certain birdie' was Otis wasn't it? You don't like talking to other people"

Pulling backwards, Isabella shrugged and sat in the living room.

"And secondly, he's right. I forgot to mention that the reaping is tomorrow" Isabella's mother corrected.
