The Wedding Day
AliciaA long, long year of planning and stress lead up to the moment. My dress is corseted at the top and with a large skirt, turning it into a ball gown.
"Oh, you look so beautiful, I could cry." Cecy, my maid of honor, tells me as she fixes up a strand of my hair.
"I'm already crying." Ava notes, wiping a tear off her face. She had recently gotten married to my elder brother, Eli, surprising us all.
"See, this is why we wear waterproof mascara." Glyn adds.
"Told you guys it was a good idea." Mia says, Annika smiling at me with waters eyes.
"The bouquet! The bouquet! Come on!" Annika says, passing it to me.
"Alright!" Cecy claps her hands. "Come on, bridesmaids we have to go. Go on, go on." She orders, signaling for the girls to find the groomsmen.

Vaughn"You look so nervous, it's hilarious." Jeremy tells me from my right. I turn to him with a glare.
"Shut the fuck up." I reply.
"I don't know why you're so nervous, I mean, she agreed to marry you. The hard part is over." Nikolai shrugs.
"Come back to me when you freaks are getting married, I pity your poor brides." I snap.
Killian smirks "So nervous."
"Alright, you three, lay off him." Garreth defends, I turn to him and give him a small nod as a thank you and he replies with a smile.
Cecily Knight opens up the door with a frown. "Come on! We don't want to run late, if everything doesn't go perfectly; Alicia will freak. So, groomsmen, go to your bridesmaids. Groom, you'll go down the aisle first then the bridesmaids and groomsmen, then Alicia. Go! Go! Go!"
As the door swings open, I feel a swell of anxiety hit me like a tidal wave. It's not that I'm actually worried about the ceremony going wrong; it's My Alicia I'm scared of disappointing. She's the light in my dark, chaotic world, and I want everything to be perfect for her today.
"Calm down, Vaughn," I mumble under my breath, more for my own sake than the guys around me. I had envisioned this day countless times, but now that it's finally here, a knot forms tighter in my stomach. I run a hand through my hair and exhale slowly, fighting to maintain my composure.
I catch a glimpse of the ornate floral arrangements and the beautiful archway draped in white fabric. The venue is picturesque—just the way Alicia loves it. Every decoration chosen with care, every detail meticulously planned, all for her.
When the time comes for me to step outside, I gather my thoughts. The groomsmen line up alongside me, and I do my best to ignore their teasing. It's annoying, but I can't deny it's a welcome distraction.
"Just remember, man, all eyes are gonna be on you," Jeremy quips as I suddenly realize I'm about to become the center of everyone's attention—not to mention the sheer weight of the vows I'm about to make. The thought sends a surge of adrenaline through me.
"Yeah, yeah, I've got it," I snap back, forcing a smirk. But inside, I'm fighting a battle of emotions. I've been waiting for this moment, and yet the gravity of what it means hits me all at once.
"Here we go," Garreth murmurs, and I step forward, my heart racing. The music begins, penetrating the tension in the air. With each step, I feel the warmth of the sunlight filtering through the trees, and it oddly steadies my nerves.
And then, I see her.
Alicia appears at the end of the aisle, a vision of grace and beauty that takes my breath away. The way her gown flows around her makes it seem like she's floating. My heart leaps in my chest. There's no one else but her. My eyes are glued to her, and the noise around me fades into a dull hum.
As she approaches, her eyes meet mine, and the world falls away. It's just us, and in this moment, I realize that all my fears vanish. My heart calms. She brings light into my life, and I've chosen her to be my forever.
When she stands beside me, the smell of her jasmine perfume envelops me, grounding me in the reality of what we're about to commit to.
"Ready?" she whispers, her voice like music to my ears. I reach out and wipe the tears spilling from her eyes.
"Always," I reply, and I can see the brief flicker of uncertainty in her eyes dissipate. Surrounded by our friends and family, I feel a protective instinct rush over me. I've waited for this day, and I'll make sure nothing threatens it.
Our officiant begins the ceremony, but my focus is entirely on Alicia. Her smile ignites something fierce within me—a desire to shield her from the darkness of the world. I know my past won't be easy to shake off, but here, with her, I'm ready to rewrite the narrative.
As the vows are exchanged, I feel my heart swell with each word. I promise to stand beside her, to be her refuge, her strength, and never to let my shadows creep into her light. Because she deserves every bit of happiness, and I'll do everything in my power to give it to her.
By the time I reach the end of my vows, reaffirming my love for her, I see tears glistening in her eyes—tears of joy. Just like that, the world fades again, leaving just the two of us drenched in our love.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the officiant declares, and I can't contain the smile bursting forth. I lean down to capture her lips in a kiss, sealing our promises with the sweet taste of forever.
As the crowd erupts in applause, I pull back slightly, staring into her eyes. There's nothing possessive about the way I hold her; it's purely protective. She's my heart, and I'll never let anyone take that away.
