Bill curses, he's running out of time. He learned the hard way that his damned body only allows him to wander the mindscape for a few hours before trying to flatline. The experience was mostly fun, but as much as he enjoys the adrenaline rush, the demon can't risk damaging it. That body is the only thing tying him to this world. Without it, his entire plan falls apart.

In his anger, the demon almost misses the ritual he's been searching for. He quickly reaches for the door, carefully watching each step. He had created this section of the mindscape almost 7,000 years ago. A failsafe, his preparation for a time his powers may be limited. He silently praises himself for thinking ahead. Sure, this isn't the exact situation he had anticipated, but it's working nevertheless.

"Just in time." He grins as his surroundings fade away.

Bill jolts upright, pressing a hand his pounding chest. He stands, contemplating. A teleportation spell is risky while he's this weak, but the ritual is fresh in his mind. Determined, he snaps his fingers, hoping his victim asleep.

He teleports to the balcony outside the attic window. The silence of the Mystery Shack confirming that its inhabitants won't bother him. The demon smiles as he slips through the window and studies his target. Dipper lays in his bed, his chest slowly rising and falling. The movement is so small that Bill would have mistaken the twin for dead.

Bill takes a deep breath, preparing himself for the ritual. He conjures a small vial and needle and pricks his finger, collecting five drops of blood. Slowly, he crouches next to the bed and takes Dipper's hand to repeat the process. The boy flinches slightly at the prick.

"Oh, my dear Pinetree." The demon sneers as he swirls the vial. "I will truly enjoy our short time together."

Bill braces himself and teleports back the cabin. He quickly stumbles toward the wall and draws a rune with the blood, reciting an incantation.

supmet menif da euqsu mulucniv murcas eregnuinoc setnem te eragil meniugnas

He smiles triumphantly as he falls to the floor. Just as he loses consciousness, he can feel his mindscape connect with Dipper's. Now, all he needs is a way to explore the boy's mindscape freely.

AN: Honestly, I think I made the right choice. The book should start coming along much more smoothly without too much rush 🤞 Bonus fun. Can you interpret the incantation?
