This morning, Dipper knew something was different. He felt vulnerable, like his skull had been cut open and his brain put on display. Every thought visible to the world.

"Nope. Just me, Pinetree." Bill's laugh rang out in his mind.

"Why now, of all times, to worm yourself into my mind?" Dipper mumbles.

"It's all part of the plan, and you are the first step, kid. Maybe the only step if you don't get smart."

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"

"It means as long as you don't ruin my plan, I have no need to go after the rest of your family. You are the only one I need to kill." He could hear the smile on the bastard's face.

But Dipper couldn't risk his family, so he promised himself he would keep quiet. No one else needed to know the chaos god is back. But the words slipped out. Seeing Mabel so hurt and angry, knowing that the secrets would tear the two apart and hurt his sister even more.

"What do you mean he told you?" Mabel asks.

Shit, shit, shit, Dipper desperately searches for an excuse. He's already said too much. He can't panic now, Mabel's already already upset. She doesn't need to deal with one of his panic attacks right now.

"I mean, he didn't tell me outright. I had a dream last night." He lies. "But either way, it's pretty obvious. I'm the only one he's been messing with. No one else has seen him. He's only in my head."

"Do you really expect them to buy that?" Bill's voice coos through his mind. Now that the music is gone, the boy can hear every snicker and comment.

"Well, in four days, that won't matter." Mabel states. "You're coming home with me."

"Running away isn't going to change anything, Mabel. I told you everything is gonna be fine."

Ford steps in, "Mabel, your brother's right. Besides, you two can't just throw away your lives just because Bill is back. This week will continue as planned, and when you go home, Dipper and I will put all of our effort into finding a way to banish Cipher for good."

His sister doesn't seem pleased, but she sighs. Dipper yelps slightly when she grabs him, her eyes practically boring holes through his skull.

"I know I can't fight you, but I'm not gonna just accept all of this bullshit. Promise me that you'll be safe. That you'll come home for Thanksgiving, and you'll be healthy and alive and not distracted by whatever you two are planning. You will call me every single night before you go to sleep, right before you go to sleep. And if anything goes wrong, you're gonna come home until that triangle piece of shit is gone for good. Promise."

"I promise, Mabel."

"Good, because if you break your promise, I will drop out, come back here, and go after that fucking monster myself."

Mabel hugs Dipper squeezing extra hard. He knows that she isn't bluffing. He returns the hug, reassuring her that it won't come to that.

"Don't be too sure, Dipper. This is all part of my plan." The demon spits the boy's name like it's poison.

AN: Wow, this chapter was... somthing? I can't plan books out in advance, so every chapter is literally my brain continuing the story without much thought. The joy of having my brain 😅 Seriously though, if you have any thoughts, let me know? What do you love, what do you hate? Suggestions are always welcome 😁
