Mabel holds Waddles tightly as she talks to her brother. She hadn't realized how difficult it would be to be separated. She thought that it would be okay. Of course, Bill fucking Cipher had to go and ruin that. Speaking of...
"What did you mean by 'neither' today?"
"What?" Dipper asks.
"When I asked about the nightmare, you said it wasn't the usual or from Bill."
"Oh, that. Grunkle Stan was trying to help me get sleep by overdosing me on Ny-Quill." He says it like it's no big deal, which considering everything that's happened this week maybe it's not but still.
"Holy shit! Are you okay?" Mabel almost drops her phone.
"I'm fine, it's..." Mabel waits for him to finish, but he changes the subject. "Don't you have to be up at six for class?"
"I can stay up a bit longer."
"No, go to sleep. I'll call you tomorrow, okay?"
Mabel agrees reluctantly and hangs up. But, of course, she's not quite finished. Does her brother really think she's just going to leave and allow a psychotic dream demon to try to kill him? Does Bill Cipher really think she isn't going to do something about his tom fuckery?
Paz huge favor. Can you keep an eye on Dipper? I'm really worried about him.
Before she can decide whether she should pray to her favorite anime goddesses, her phone chimes.
Ofc! Honestly, I was going to anyway.
OMG! Thank you so much. IOU big time :*
Wait, why did she send a kissy face? Shit! Pacifica is gonna think she's insane.
No problem :))
"Waddles, what am I gonna do?" Her entire life, she chased after boys because that's what normal girls do. Normal girls don't like girls as anything more than friends, besties.
But for the past three years, Mabel has tried gathering the courage to ask Pacifica out and to come out to her family. When Dipper came out to her their sophomore year, she thought it would be easy to tell him. He trusted her, but she couldn't say a word about her crush on Pacifica, much less with girls in general. So, her high school years were focused on helping her twin with his dating life. Any girl or guy he wanted, she would go to the ends of the earth to get them together.
Besides, even if Pacifica reciprocated any romantic feelings, her parents would kill her. Those bastards had spouted every homophobic slur when Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland got married. They even forced Pacifica to stop her part-time job at the daycare when their adopted daughter started going there.
Mabel looks back at Waddles, "I know!" Waddles snorts in encouragement. "We can run away to Paris and open an orphanage, just two besties with a bunch of children to place in loving homes. No one would have to know that we are wives who adopted a ton of kids." Waddles snorts again as if to say, "That idea is absolutely ridiculous, but you do you."
Mabel sighs, deciding to go to bed before her fantasies get even more wild.
AN: Totally not giving Mabel my closted trauma. And totally not planning on crushing her in the future.
