Bianca woke to the buzz of her phone somewhere too close to her ear. She cracked one eye open and reached out blindly until her fingers bumped against the screen.

"...I fell asleep," she muttered.

Yawning, she sat up and checked the message from Plume. Apparently, Naruto had gotten himself arrested and needed someone to bail him and his new friend, Kuroka, out.

She let out a quiet breath, dragging a hand down her face. The Thiren had told the girls that if anything happened to him, they could go to her. He said it like it was just a backup plan, like it probably wouldn't come to that.

Well, here they were.

She didn't really have a choice, not that she was going to say no anyway.

The woman got to her feet, grabbed her gear, and started suiting up without bothering to fix her hair or even check the time. Whatever mess he got himself into, she'd deal with it.

And first on that list was the mayor.

He was getting a visit, whether he liked it or not.

Bianca wasn't really sure what she expected when she showed up to bail them out, but it definitely wasn't this.

Naruto and... Kuroka were curled up together on the bed, fast asleep, arms wrapped around each other like it was the most natural thing in the world. Both of them had stupid grins on their faces, with a little drool sliding from the corners of their mouths.

Her eyelid twitched.

They looked far too content for two people in a jail cell.

Her eyes moved to Naruto's outfit or what counted as one. He was wearing a bathrobe.

And just like that, a few memories she had no business thinking about right now floated to the front of her mind. Her cheeks warmed, but she shook it off quickly.

Not the time.

"U-uh... ma'am?" the officer next to her started nervously, holding up the document the mayor had signed. "E-even with this, I think we should wait for Chief Zhu Yuan to—"

Creaaak!

Bianca didn't even look at him. She reached out and pulled the cell door open.

Immediately, a surge of electricity shot through her, causing a blackout in Lumina Square before the police station ran on its backup generator.

She looked at her gloves which were burnt badly.

She smiled to herself. Same thing had happened the last time she tried waking him up.

At least this time he hadn't used his own power or Lumina Square would've turned into a sinkhole by now.

She stepped into the cell and reached for Kuroka first, peeling the catgirl off the blonde with zero ceremony.

"Nyaaa? Who—"

Bianca cut her off by slamming her head gently — well, gently enough — against the wall beside her.

Bang!

Kuroka's eyes spun once before she slumped with a soft noise, completely out.

Bianca hoisted her over one shoulder without missing a beat.
