Disclaimer, first chapter!

A few days had passed since the Vision Corporation incident.

Just like Billy said, Kurama was everywhere, in headlines, newsfeeds, even the comment sections. People just couldn't stop talking about them.

At first, it was just clips and commentary being passed around online, shaky footage of cracked streets, shattered windows and fractured buildings.

Now though, a live broadcast was trending across every major platform, playing everywhere, and nearly everyone with a TV or phone was watching. Lumina Square itself was packed with people, from children to the elderly, watching the jumboscreens.

Public Security had stationed officers at every corner, spreading them evenly across the square in case something happened.

After all, today's broadcast wasn't just another news flash or story about celebrities. It was the full report of what really happened, and how officials planned to respond to the Thiren.

Kurama had completely wiped out the Dead End Hollow without leaving a single trace behind. Even more shocking, they had managed to push the Dark Wall back nearly sixty kilometers, far more than anything the original Void Hunters ever achieved back before the founding of the old capital.

The Defense Force confirmed it themselves.

Soldiers stationed near the Dark Wall reported newly accessible zones in the aftermath of Kurama's attack. Together with the HIA and HAND investigators, they had already begun selecting members for an exploration team to see what lay beyond the wall.

The square erupted in thunderous, deafening cheers and applause as the people praised Kurama for what they had done

Online forums, newsfeeds, and comment sections lit up in real time, overflowing with praise and admiration.

However, that wave of celebration came to a screeching halt the moment the officials stepped forward with their official statement.

Kurama, they said, was not a savior—but a threat. A volatile force that needed to be captured for the safety and the 'greater good' of New Eridu.

And the charges didn't stop there.

Years ago, they ambushed Hoshimi Miyabi right after her inauguration. More recently, they assaulted HIA agents and Public Security officers, interfered with active investigations, destroyed two partially investigated Hollows, Cretan and Dead End, and caused widespread panic and property damage across the city.

The report concluded with a firm declaration that based on these actions, Kurama was to be officially designated as the most dangerous criminal in New Eridu.

Allowing a single, unidentified individual to wield that much power without oversight was deemed too great a risk, both to the public and to the city itself.

As a result, a capture-on-sight order was issued to all government bodies and affiliated forces, effective immediately, with no exceptions. Unlike before, they were all now allowed to use lethal means to capture Kurama.

The square fell deathly silent within seconds of the announcement, and the stationed Public Security officers got ready in case of what they feared happened.

People stared at the screen in shock as they read the announcement line by line as it scrolled past.

"Oi, oi, oi!" someone finally shouted. "They saved the city!!"
