Hyunjin's POV:

The next school day, I arrived at the university earlier than usual, my heart pounding with a mixture of anxiety and determination. I was heading to the same Calculus class I shared with that strange student—the one who knew my name without me ever telling him. The memory of our unsettling encounter still lingered in my mind, making me uneasy. I had come early today with a specific goal: to find an empty seat far away from where he might sit, to avoid any further interactions with him.

As I stepped into the empty classroom, the familiar rows of desks greeted me, each one a potential refuge from the unnerving presence of that student. I quickly chose a seat near the back, close to the window, where I could easily slip in and out without drawing too much attention. With my bag on the desk, I settled in, hoping that this early start would give me some peace of mind.

Slowly, the other students began to trickle into the room, filling the seats one by one. I kept my head down, focusing on my notebook as I waited for the class to begin. I couldn't help but glance at the door every now and then, expecting to see him walk in at any moment. But as the classroom filled up, there was no sign of him.

The relief that washed over me was almost palpable. Maybe today, I could get through the lesson without that unsettling presence hovering over me. The class proceeded smoothly, and for the first time since I had arrived at Seoul University, I felt a sense of normalcy returning. When the lesson ended, I quickly packed my things and headed out, eager to leave the classroom behind.

Jisung and I had made plans to have lunch together, so I made my way to the cafeteria. The large, bustling space was filled with the clatter of trays and the hum of students chatting over their meals. I spotted Jisung waving me over from a table near the windows. As I approached, I noticed he wasn't sitting alone.

There was another guy with him, someone I vaguely recognized. His face was familiar, though I couldn't quite place where I had seen him before. Maybe we had crossed paths somewhere on campus. Jisung grinned as I reached the table, clearly excited to introduce us.

"Hey," I greeted them with a small smile as I set my tray down.

"Hyunjin, meet my new friend, Chan. Chan, this is Hyunjin," Jisung said, gesturing between the two of us.

I extended a hand, trying to be polite despite the unease still lingering from this morning. "Nice to meet you, Chan."

Chan took my hand with a friendly smile, his grip firm but not overbearing. "Likewise, Hyunjin. I've heard a lot about you from Jisung. He says you're the brains of the operation," he said with a playful wink.

I chuckled softly, feeling a bit more at ease. "I don't know about that, but I do my best."

We all sat down, and the conversation quickly turned to the usual topics—classes, professors, the struggles of balancing study and social life. Chan was easy to talk to, his friendly demeanor making the conversation flow naturally. But as we talked, I couldn't help but notice the way he occasionally glanced at me, as if he were studying me, trying to gauge something beneath the surface.
