Laenyll gazes-no glares at Rhaenyra and Alicent as they lay on the grassy field before the tree. She supports herself against one of the pillars, shielding herself from the full view. A spot that was once for her, now taken by a girl in a blue dress. The tense air that surrounded and suffocated them, perished once the Hightower made her reappearance. It was as if she didn't exist anymore in the princesses eyes and it felt like a knife was wedged into her chest. Did she leave Laenor for this?

They talk about a new read, something that was once an activity she shared but was now forced to go at alone. A light breath fans out across her lips as she listens to them move the conversation about the infamous topic of the new heir and Rhaenyra's thoughts on the matter.

Her fingers surround the metal of the necklace. Rhaenyra disappeared shortly after their encounter with Daemon and the sour taste in her mouth returned because she knew who was at the Princesses side.

Rhaenyra voices out her wish to Alicent and Laenyll can feel her body tense. The wish of flying dragon back over the narrow sea and going to eat cake was the wish that was used on her. Rhaenyra's eyes sparkled when they made that plan. It was supposed to be their future. A future that was carefully planned with the hidden spark within themselves. But now. The wish was just a pile of ash and Rhaenyra had burned it.

Not pushing the burning feeling flaming across her chest, Laenyll turns and tries to put distance between herself and the Godswoods.

She shreds her dark dress and places her leathers on. Laenyll can feel the bond come alive as she travels to the opening of the Dragon pit where she was earlier. The carriage ride was simple, it edges away the tensions of her bones. She just needs some time away from the castle walls and some time with her dragon. Maybe she can take a flight to Driftmark and visit Laenor. She gives a few slick words to the guard that followed her to allow her to go alone into the field. She could be alone with her dragon, Mercy wasn't going to hurt her. And no being was going to try.

She waits for the shadow to appear before gazing up into the sky. She shifts her weight in excitement. Flying was the best thing to clear a stormy mind. And lately, it seems like her mind was always under one. Laenyll believes it's because Laenor isn't here to calm her down and to make her feel like herself again. It was only with him that she truly felt like herself. Maybe it's because they were born of the same womb at the same time. Their hearts beat the same and their minds are the blend of one another.

Mercy lands on the same hill from before. Laenyll can't help but smile. This deadly dragon is her sanctuary and always has been since Mercy picked her when she was a little girl. From that moment on, Mercy became her safe place. She walks to greet Mercy. Her steps are light as she climbs the hill.

"Do you mind taking a flight with me to the field?" she whispers as she gives Mercy's head a tight hug.

Mercy pushes gently against Laenyll indicating her answer. The smile doesn't leave as she climbs onto Mercy's back and urges her forward. She wants to leave Kingslanding to clear her head. Let the crashing waves calm. She needed it. Kingslanding was many things but a place where you can go for a peace of mind did not fit the description.

As they take to the sky, her milky braids fly behind her in a crazy pattern. She must have forgot to pin them down. She lifts one hand to pull back the stubborn braid that whips to the front of her face.

Mercy lets out a thundering roar as they approach a large green field some way from the castle. Secrecy can last here for miles which was what she wanted. This field knew all of hers and saw all of her tears that bubbled out of laughter. Laenyll cranes her head to spot any unwelcomed guest but there were none. Her dragon lands, shaking the ground slightly. She slides down the large black wing and lands just as gracefully.
