'What?! Are you saying we'll be the ones overlooking the date of our Alpha and future Luna!' Jake said in a high pitch tone and exaggerated gestures. I expected this reaction when I broke the news to them once we reached at my place.

Maa eas currently out with her friends probably playing poker or something. I haven't told her yet, and it's been bugging me but I don't think she'll be too thrilled to find out. Although we live among warewolves, she had made sure we don't mingle our whole lives with them like some humans do. I've always felt some hidden hesitation from her towards warewolves.

'Jake stop overacting, of course we won't be sitting with them' Chloe reasoned, I have a feeling she's also not totally on board 'Right Amelia?' she asked me carefully.

'Of course not!' I whisper-shouted with Ashley in my lap, sleeping away.
'You guys will just be there for moral support like at the ground earlier... but with less eavesdropping' I glared at them. The whole way back they were occasionally muffling their laughs, I'm sure with the enhanced hearing they were listening the whole time.

They both shared a brief and again hid their laughs while I continued glaring at them. 'Come on guys, I know I'm asking for a bit much but please humor me. I'm clueless and panicking, plus I need someone there to signal if things are going south.' I finished with desperation clear in my eyes as I pleaded.

Seemed to work as both let out a sigh, shared a look and slowly nodded.

'Okay we'll come. Dinner on you' Jake negotiated.

'Done!' I shouted with a grin 'What did I do to be blessed with such amazing friends' I shouted at the God(ess?) up above.

'You're practically our Luna, we don't mind helping you out in exchange for some small favours once you take your position' Jake smirked devilishly, making me question what exactly goes on in his messed up head.

Looking at the clock, I figured I have 1 more hour till I start getting ready. With Ashley already asleep, I place her in her crib and start preparing for my Mids. Nothing will make me weaver from my motivation to maintain my scholarship and complete my degree.

I decided to take upon the hardest challenge and start with Calculus. Jake - being the math whiz, helped me with the work as Chloe sprawled on the couch for her afternoon nap.

Makes my skin look pale I thought as I unbuttoned my third shirt and tossed it on my bed. I have a good hour before I need to pick Amelia and her friends but my anxuous ass couldn't even decide on the clothes to wear.

The conversation, however awkward, was something that made me realize that this mating won't go as smooth as normal warewolf matings. Usually it doesn't take long to give into the bond when both wolves feel the intensity but this was different, I need to move at a slower pace. I closed my eyes, taking deep breaths.

We will set our pace. I'll wait for her to warm up to me no matter how much time she needs.

From the moment I saw her in the cafeteria, I've been feeling like I've been given a second life. One we will carve together, with our own ups and downs on the way.

Sighing at my own thoughts, I settled on a black buttoned down shirt that fit me perfectly. Glancing at myself in the mirror, I set my hair with gel going for the business casual look as I want to make good first impression on my mate.

Mate. Just this word reminds me of Amelia, her hair, her deep brown eyes that I can't stop looking into. I need to get myself together before I burst with adoration for her.

I felt my wolf purring slowly as he watches me fumble with my car keys, clearly too nervous. 'I'm coming to pick you guys, then we'll head to Amelia's' I mindlinked Chloe, checking myself one last time in the mirror. You can never go wrong with black.

Not even a second later I get her reply saying they're already at her place. I wonder what they were doing there. I hope that doofus Jake isn't badmouthing me, I won't mind sending him away for a few weeks to train with our neighbouring packs, solely for pack security of course.

I grabbed the bouquet I brought her and got into my recently washed car and drive off to the more populated part of the town. I reach the destination Chloe sent, pulling into the driveway as I take in her house. A homey place, radiates comfort and simplicity - just like my mate.

Hesitating in the car for a good 10 minutes to mindlink Chloe or just knock the door, I finally decided to receive Amelia by the door as I knocked lightly.

Waiting patiently as I heard shuffling before the door opens revealing... Jake. Retracting my hand that held the bouquet of roses, my face drops a little. I am not even trying to mask my irritation as Jake looked just as surprised.

'Why do you keep-' my thoughts are interrupted as the sweet smell of Lavender with a hint of Amber fills my nostrils as my mate descends down the stairs. We're twinning.

I stopped myself from patting my back as I watch my mate eyeing my look as I return the gesture. My eyes trail from her comfortable box heels up to her simple yet elegant sleeveless black dress that came up to her knees, her hair were left open flowing to her waist as she radiated the whole room with her aura. She looks perf-

'YOU GUYS ARE TWINNING!' Jake exclaimed, breaking our moment yet again. Snapping out of it as I glared at Jake, I took a step forward to my mate who was slightly blusing - from embarrassment as would I if I had such stupid friend. I cleared my throat and offered her the bouquet of roses in my hand. It was nothing grand, just a small bouquet with red and white roses and some cute wrappings around it.

'You brought me flowers' She with a hint of amusement, making me second guess my choice.

'Umm, yeah I mean that's what I was advises by Goog-...You don't have to accept it, it's totally fine if you don't like flowers' I said like an idiot as she looks at me with a small smile.

'They're perfect, Google guided you well' She taunts as she grabs them from my hand - causing sparks to dance on my skin, and takes a whiff of them and places them in an empty vase with water.

I scratch my head, she obviously caught the Google act. 'Oh My God, you guys are so cute together!' Jake, yet again, butted in our moment earning a smack from Chloe.

'Sorry Alpha, I'll keep him in check throughout your...date' Chloe said looking at me and Amelia with a pause.

An awkward minute passes between the three of us before Amelia comes back from the kitchen. She looked so beautiful today, I sure hope she enjoys our datd.

I can't wait to woo her!
