The day of graduation arrived. Mr. and Mrs. Johnsons began to get ready. Mr. Walter pulled out his best suit, black with a burgundy tie, and Mrs. Rachel put on an elegant navy-blue dress. When Mrs. Rachel looked into her daughter's room, she saw that she was looking at her reflection in the mirror with a sad smile. She approached her daughter, hugged her and told her that she was fine, that her grandmother would be accompanying her on this important day. Sarah nodded and finished getting ready.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson took a thousand and one photos of their daughter with her cap and gown. A new chapter would begin for all three of them, and they were ready for whatever the future held. After the delivery of documents and the farewell words from the student with the best average, it was time to leave the auditorium to go to the garden where the party would be. Mrs. Rachel and Mr. Walter offered, along with other parents, to be chaperones and help at the party, mainly because they also wanted to dance to the rhythm of eighties music.
Mr. Walter decided to wear something like the red suit Jackson wears in "Thriller" and Mrs. Rachel opted for something in the style of Cindy Lauper. Sarah smiled at the sight of them, they looked even more excited than she did. When they arrived at the garden everything was lit up with lights of quite striking colors. It was curious to see how all those high school students of 2024 were dressed as students of 1980. Soon the music began to set the mood in the garden and the Johnsons went to the dance floor to show off their dance moves.
At some point during the party, as dusk began, Sarah walked away from her friends to once again look for the first star. He thought he would not be able to see her again, when a blue flash caught his attention. She turned around and there, the brightest star she had ever seen was pointing towards her. Sarah smiled immediately and knew. Her grandmother was accompanying her at her graduation. At that moment he whispered to heaven: "You kept your promise, thank you. Now I know that you are okay and my grandfather, my aunts, mom and I will be too. So now I let you go."
End.
