"𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 to what this poor woman wrote." Francesca said, lifting the note she was answering. "Juliet, is there anything worse in this world than a man."
Jenny deadpanned, "Yes. Two men."
"Excuse me." A male voice pulled the attention of the six women in the room, at the door, there was a man standing. He was at least 20-21, tan skin, green eyes, blonde hair, and beautiful facial features. "I'm sorry to interrupt, but are you the Secretaries of Juliet?"
"Yes that's us." Maria said
"Great." He reached into his pocked and pulled out an envelope.
Ali's heart was beating like a drum. Not just because he was the most beautiful man she had ever seen, but, in his hands, was the envelope that contained the letter that she had answered days before. Claire's reply. She couldn't believe it.
"May I ask which one of you wrote this letter to my grandmother, Claire Smith?" The young man asked
Ali smiled as she stood up from her seat, happy that the letter had received its destination. "I wrote that, and I can't believe that it found you."
"Yes. We Brits tend to stay in our family homes." The young man shrugged.
"Yeah, this is amazing. It's less than a week since I mailed it." Ali smiled brightly, as she walked towards the young man. The young man ignored the butterflies he felt in his stomach when he saw her radiant smile
"It was a very thoughtful letter." The young man said as he and Ali reached the window. "Now, what were you thinking?"
"I was thinking that she deserved an answer." Ali said,
"Yeah, 50 years ago, maybe. Not now." The young man said
Ali folded her arms over her chest and furrows her eye brows at him. "I'm sorry. I didn't know true love had an expiration date."
"True love? Are you joking?" The man questioned, and Ali furrowed her brows. "Could you imagine what would have happened if she hadn't seen sense?"
Ali rolled her eyes. "Yeah, you wouldn't be here, and that would be an upside."
"What are you doing here anyway?" The young man asked
"That's none of your business." Ali scoffed
"Yeah. You're right." The man said as he turned around and walked away.
Ali was trying to understand why he had taken the trouble to come all the way from London to give her a lecture, and all because of a letter. She felt she did nothing wrong. She walked after him, with Jenny in tow. "Excuse me!" Ali called, walking after him
