𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒, Nate drove the group from one side of the city to the other, hearing the words, I am Lorenzo Bartolini, but they were not Claire's Lorenzo.

"Well, wouldn't this be nice, gran? Going from a boy who works the fields to a man who owns them. And you got to skip the messy bits." Nate asked as he pulled into the drive way of a mansion.

"Life is the messy bits." Claire smiled out the window at the manicured lawns and extensive topiary that the group was driving through.

As the group got out of the car, Ali was clinging to the hope that this would be the Lorenzo that Claire fell in love with. But she couldn't get her hopes up as they still had nineteen more Lorenzos to go.

Ali and Jenny stood by the car with Nate and Kyle, who watched as Claire, who held two roses in her hand, and an older gentleman walked out of the garden and placed a gentle kiss to her hand.

"What is it with you and Italian men? They fall at your feet." Ali asked. Jenny and Claire laughed as the older woman handed the two ladies the roses.

"It's such a shame. I think I could have been happy here." Nate said

"Happy? Did you just say happy?" Kyle asked

"I said could have been. Let's not get too carried away, I have a reputation to uphold." Nate said

Later that evening, Kyle and Jenny sat alone at a table of an Italian restaurant, while Ali, Nate, and Clair had their own table.

"Nate, why don't you tell Ali about your pro bono legal work?" Claire suggested, as Ali took a sip of her wine

"I can't imagine she'd have much interest, gran." Nate said as Ali put down her wine glass

"Try me." Ali said.

Raising an eyebrow, Nate leaned back on his chair. "You know, the sort of thing. Defending the defenseless, preserving human rights, helping refugees get asylum." Nate said. Ali was surprised. "You look surprised."

"I am actually. I just didn't have you pinned down as the save humanity type at all." Ali said

"Really? And what type did you have me pinned down for, exactly?" Nate asked as he narrowed his eyes at her, and gently leaned forward

"Well, I was leaning towards elitist Oxford prig, but now that you mention it, self-satisfied do-gooder works as well." Ali said

"I guess you're a poor judge of character then." Nate smirked

"But she does deal with facts, Nate." Claire said

"She is right about that." Ali laughed

Claire smiled as she stood up. "Okay. I'm off to bed."
