                    ♡BRANDON♡

The next morning, I woke up feeling a little more at ease than usual. It was strange, but I didn't mind it.

As I got ready for school, I found myself glancing at my phone, half-expecting a text from Athalia, even though I knew it was too early for that.

Still, the thought made me smile as I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs for breakfast.

Aunt Dina was already in the kitchen, sipping her coffee.

"Morning, Brandon," she said with a warm smile.

"Morning," I replied, grabbing some toast.

"Everything alright? You seem... different today."

I shrugged, not really sure how to explain it. "Yeah, everything's fine."

She gave me a look, like she wasn't convinced but wasn't going to push it either.

"Alright then. Have a good day at school."I nodded and headed out the door, the crisp morning air hitting my face.

As I walked to school, my thoughts drifted back to Athalia. I wondered if she'd mention our texts today or if we'd just fall into another easy conversation like yesterday.

In case you can't tell but I think about her a lot.

Either way, I found myself looking forward to seeing her. When I got to school, I spotted her almost immediately, standing by her locker.

Her long, slightly curly hair cascaded over her shoulders, and her chestnut eyes lit up when she saw me.

She waved, her usual bright smile already on her face."Hey." she called as I approached.

"Hey." I replied, my own smile slipping into place without thinking.

As we walked to class together, our conversation picked up right where we'd left off last night.

It was easy, comfortable, like we'd known each other much longer than we actually had.

By lunchtime, we'd fallen into the usual routine, sitting together and talking while we ate.

Athalia was her usual bubbly self, and I found myself relaxing around her more than I ever thought I could.

As lunch was winding down, Athalia leaned in, her eyes bright with excitement. "Hey, I've got something to show you. Are you free after school?"

"Yeah, what's up?" I asked, curious.

"So, I made a photo collage from the pictures I took yesterday at the park. I thought you might want to see it." She smiled, her excitement contagious.

"A collage?" I asked, intrigued. "Yeah, sure."

"Great. You can come over after school then." She gave me a quick nod, her brown eyes full of energy. "It's pretty cool, if I do say so myself."

I nodded, feeling a little more eager than I expected. Spending time with her after school didn't seem so bad, especially if it involved seeing what she'd created.

Athalia had a way of making everything seem brighter, and I was starting to appreciate that more.

The bell rang, and we parted ways with a simple plan for later.

I spent the rest of the day thinking about what her collage might look like, wondering how her perspective through the lens might change how I saw those same moments.
