That night, she had trouble sleeping for a different reason than usual. Retracing every moment from reuniting with him to their lips touching, she realized it was already morning.

It was truly amazing. A heart that had hardened like a stone and deemed life meaningless started pumping fervently just because she had met one person again. It felt as though her heart beat solely for him.

Even though she had nearly stayed up all night, she greeted the morning sunlight in surprisingly good condition.

Knock, knock.

Judith raised her upper body sluggishly at the earlier-than-expected visit from her maid.

“Miss, are you awake?”

The maid had an expression of slight embarrassment for some reason.

“What’s the matter?”

“I think you should come down for a moment.”

At the maid’s somewhat urgent request, Judith descended to the mansion’s hall early in the morning, only to be taken aback. Dozens of boxes were piled up in the vast mansion hall. Before she could check one, the maid, who was inspecting the accumulating boxes, spotted Judith and hurried over.

“Good morning, Miss.”

“What is all this?”

“These are gifts addressed to you, Miss.”

“… Who sent all of this?”

“They said it was from Duke Maximilion.”

Upon hearing the maid’s explanation, Judith approached the boxes that filled the hall.

Opening one lid, she found it packed with fresh vegetables. The next one contained meat, and another was filled with colorful fruits. Though the contents varied, all the boxes in the hall were filled with food.

Then she recalled Derrick’s concern about her looking thinner.

“Lady Lipis.”

While examining the endless boxes, someone suddenly approached. A man in a neat uniform and monocle bowed politely.

“Nice to meet you. I am Nocturne, the Duke of Maximilion’s assistant.”

“Ah, yes.”

Judith, wary that he might also be a demon, squinted her eyes. Nocturne, seemingly unaware of her suspicions, smiled gentlemanly and handed her something.

“This is a letter the Duke ordered me to deliver.”

The black envelope with a rose design was the same as the one in the carriage before. Judith unfolded it.

I’ll check if you eat it.

She didn’t expect any kind words like ‘enjoy your meal,’ but the idea of checking was just like him. Judith couldn’t help but laugh at Derrick’s ridiculous message. The head maid, standing nearby, was surprised to see her lively reaction.

After confirming the last box’s arrival, Nocturne left the mansion. Among the exhausted servants moving the boxes, only the head chef was excited about the unexpected bounty of ingredients.

The chef began using the fresh ingredients from that evening.

“Miss, the chef would like to prepare dinner with the ingredients that arrived today. Shall I bring it up?”
