SARAH
I was in my classroom, trying to rest because my friends were being really noisy. I was feeling quite unwell due to my anaemia, and their loudness was making it even harder for me to cope.
Then Yasir came over and poured water on me, which startled me and made me scream. He ran away, but I followed him because I felt like he needed to understand how his actions were affecting me. It's tough dealing with someone who constantly annoys me like that.
I slowly rose from my seat, water dripping from my hair, and gave Yasir a look of mock betrayal.
"You brat, if I catch you, you're dead!" I yelled at him. "You've decided to water the plants today; too bad I'm not one of them!"
Yasir burst into laughter, but before he could react, I grabbed a nearby bottle and splashed him back.
"Hey! I was just trying to help you cool down! And rose plants need water to bloom beautifully, you know!" he winked at me.
"Well, mission accomplished. Now we're both cool."
The two of us ended up in a playful water fight, laughing and dodging each other's splashes. By the end, we were both soaked but grinning from ear to ear.
"They always fight like Tom and Jerry," Alina said to Meena. Sometimes Alina enjoyed watching us, and sometimes we joined her.
"They're best friends to hell," Meena said enviously, which I overheard.
I returned to Yasir's seat and took all his chocolates, which he always carried with him for his crushes.
When he returned after some time and didn't find his chocolates, he came near me and tried to take my bag, which I hid in my arms. He tried to snatch it away from me, but I held on tight.
Then, Sir entered the class, and Yasir sat near me.
"Just go to your seat, you clumsy oaf," I tried to push him away.
"You fatty, just how many chocolate bars would it take to make you surrender?"
"You're wrong. There's no limit; I could eat you whole," I said, widening my eyes to try to scare him.
He began to laugh and playfully nudged me, saying, "You're such a foodie, there's no way you wouldn't eat me!"
Class ended, and we reached the canteen.
"Hey, your ex is looking at you. Why don't you patch things up with her, dude?" I said, taking a bite of my burger.
"I don't find her attractive. She can be quite clingy at times. Her behaviour reminds me of the aunties who used to doubt everything," he said, making a strange face.
"Come on, you two are perfect for each other. You and CCTV Aunty would make a great couple, so you should try to reconcile with her. Plus, more guys are keeping an eye on her," Alina said sarcastically.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it, like you and your boyfriend who always tries to be possessive with you and then gets caught making out with other girls," he said, taunting.
"Watch your mouth; seems like you aren't scared of death," I said on behalf of Alina.
"Even street dogs are better than you, jerk; I'm leaving. My mood is off; let's go," she said angrily, holding my hand.
"So you better go alone. Why are you taking her with you? She won't go," he ordered.
"No, I'm leaving. I have a lot of stuff to do, and I'm not free; now you can watch your ex without any interruption," I said, punching him on the back.
