SARAH
A few days later. I went to Rosy's brother's wedding. The Ballroom hall was buzzing with laughter and music. I dressed in a stunning lavender gown. I opened my hair, and I put on some makeup.
I walked into the wedding reception, my eyes were taking in the decorations and the crowd of people. I spot my friend, Rosy, and wave to catch her attention. Just as Rosy was about to come over, my gaze locked with a pair of intense, dark eyes across the room.
Zayan is across the room, effortlessly charming in a tailored suit that fits him like a glove. His smile is warm, and his laughter is like music, drawing me in. His handsome features and confident demeanour catch my attention.
As if on cue, he glances my way, and for a moment, the world seems to pause. My eyes meet, and there’s an undeniable spark. He starts to make his way towards me, weaving through the crowd with a grace that’s almost mesmerizing. My heart races with each step he takes.
His eyes sparkled with that signature mischievous glint. Just as he was about to greet me, I turned around abruptly, and we collided.
"Whoa, easy there," Zayan said, steadying me with a grin. "Trying to knock me off my feet, are we?"
I laughed, my cheeks flushed slightly. "Maybe I just wanted to make a grand entrance," I teased him.
Zayan grinned. "Well, you certainly have a talent for it. How have you been, Sarah?"
"Better now that you're here," I replied with a playful smile. "What about you? Still charming everyone with your sarcasm?"
"Only the ones who can handle it," Zayan said, his eyes twinkling. "And you, my dear, are at the top of that list."
"Do you ever wonder how we keep bumping into each other at these events?" I asked him.
Zayan smiled. "Maybe it's fate. Or maybe I just have a knack for finding you in a crowd."
I laughed, shaking my head. "You never missed a chance ".
"How about we get some fresh air?" he suggested. We went to the garden, which was behind the hall. The trees swayed in the gentle breeze, their leaves rustling with the whispers of the night, and the sound of crickets and other nocturnal creatures added to the sense of enchantment that pervaded the garden.
The atmosphere fills with fresh, cool air. We walk along side by side."Do you ever get tired of these parties?" I asked, looking up at him.
"Not when you're around," Zayan replied softly. "You make them worth attending."
I felt my heart flutter at his words. "You always know what to say, don't you?"
"Only when it comes to you," he became closer and whispered in my ear," You know, I've always thought you were beautiful," he said in a low and sincere voice, "But up close, you're stunning. Did you dress up just for me?"
I rolled my eyes, "Oh please, Zayan," I teased.
"Don't pretend you're not flattered, Sarah," he continued playfully. "I can see the way your cheeks are flushed, the way your eyes are sparkling. You're as radiant as a star in the night sky."
My smile widened, my heart fluttering in my chest. "You're a smooth talker, Zayan," I teased, "I suppose I should be grateful you still remember how to speak with women, after all this time."
"It's true, Sarah," he said gently with sincerity, "Every time I see you, I am reminded of your beauty, both inside and out. It's like you're a star in a clear night sky, shining brighter than all the others."
