RWBY: Grimm Slayer Fragments (Male Reader x RWBY)

Ruby (Part 1)

At the school library, Team RWBY+Y/N are assembled around a table after a day of community service in Beacon this time. Except for Weiss, who is currently sitting alone and studying at a different table next to theirs. Blake is reading a textbook and Yang is playing and twirling around a mechanical pencil. Ruby is also scanning through a different textbook with papers of her quizzes and assignments littered on the table. Examining his own papers, Y/N redirect his focus on his teammates and asks.

Y/N: "By the way... how did you girls do on the history quiz a few days ago?"

His question draws in the girls' attention, though Weiss only spare him a mere glance. With a confident smirk, the blonde responds back.

Yang: "Heh heh, I think I did all right."

Followed by the black bow-wearing girl, who is still holding her textbook.

Blake: "About how I normally do."

Weiss: "Please, that quiz wasn't that difficult to begin with."

Turning to the Schnee, Y/N frowns a bit as he comments.

Y/N: "Hey, I didn't ask for you to gloat about it."

Weiss: "Hmph."

She then shifts her gaze to the side, making Y/N roll his eyes as he turns his focus onto the team leader.

Y/N: "Ruby, how about you?"

In response, Ruby visibly gulps and nervously replies.

Ruby: "Y-Yeah, uhm... I did really... good... I think."

Seeing her reaction, this prompt her older sister to giggle, getting up from her seat and pull her close via wrapping an arm around her shoulder.

Yang: "Ahaha! You're such a terrible liar, Ruby."

Ruby: "H-Hey!"

Yang: "I can tell. You did bad on the quiz, didn't you?"

Ruby: "I... uuuhh..."

She soon notices both Y/N and Blake going through her papers, much to her visible surprise.

Ruby: "What are you guys doing!?"

They soon find the quiz paper Ruby has done.

Blake: "Here it is."

Y/N: "Let's see..."

As the two examine her score, Ruby is getting held back by Yang as she weakly and sadly says with arms extended forward.

Ruby: "Noooo..."

After inspecting the quiz score, Blake and Y/N share a look.

Blake: "I wouldn't call this... good."

Y/N: "It's only a D minus. It's a passing grade, at least."

With the result revealed, Yang lets her sister go as she remarks.

Yang: "Oh, that's okay then."

Brushing herself off, the red-hooded girl awkwardly laughs.

Ruby: "Hehe. Oh well. Maybe it's just a one-time thing." 

Weiss: "This is no laughing matter, you dolt."

Interjecting into the conversation is the heiress as she quickly snatches the quiz paper from Y/N's hands.

Y/N: "Hey!"

With the paper in hand, an upset Weiss confronts Ruby and says.

Weiss: "This score is unacceptable."

Coming to his team leader's defense, Y/N retorts.
