Isabella stepped out of her cop car into the cool Autumn air, regretting not wearing a jacket or undershirt. She started the short walk up the sidewalk to the coffee cart in front of Grey-Sloan Memorial, noticing her best friend Amelia; the head of Neurosurgery. This time though, Amelia had another woman with her. She had to be a doctor, she was wearing one of those cool white coats they all wear. She had pretty long brown hair and an accent? Although curious, Isabella wasn't great at meeting new people, she was a little awkward and Amelia always teased her about it. How can you be a cop and talk to strangers every day but be socially awkward? Amelia had never talked about this doctor when they discussed work together at the end of the day. Isabella walks up to them, smiling upon getting Amelia's attention.

"Isabella! I was wondering where you were. I was getting ready to call the chief to ask if we needed to file a missing person's report!" Amelia teased, handing Isabella a to-go coffee.

Isabella was relieved, she wasn't in the mood to wait in line then order. When she came last week, the new barista wasn't the nicest and Isabella was almost in tears telling Amelia about it. Amelia had been naturally protective of her sensitive friend since the first day they met. Isabella had to come in over the years with EMT's and firefighters for each call she went on. After a really hard testing call, Amelia found her in a restricted hallway on an extra gurney, knees to her chest as she did her best to keep her emotions at bay and not show it to anyone who could have been around. She was a cop, she had to hide the sadness; it was apart of the job.

"Carina, this is my best friend Isabella that I was telling you about!" Amelia introduced the two women as Carina smiled softly at Isabella. Amelia was gushing over how sweet Isabella was and how shy she could be around new people.

"I think I've seen you a few times coming in! Have you ever gotten to work with my wife, Maya Deluca-Bishop?" Carina asked. She had the calmest smoothest voice, Isabella felt the safe feeling she had with Amelia with Carina too. Isabella thought of all the people she worked with but she slowly remembered the shorter blonde that was captain over at Station 19. Maya was always really nice to her but Isabella was also nervous around her, Maya had a very powerful presence and Isabella never wanted to get on her bad side.

"It's nice to meet you! I've met the Captain before.. is she always that bossy?" Isabella asked softly making Amelia smirk and Carina snort. "She is not always that bossy, no. I hope she is being nice to you when you guys have to work together, you let me or Amelia know otherwise, ok?" Carina replied in a stern yet soft voice. Isabella blushed and nodded, ducking her head down and starting to sip her coffee. She was starting to have a small tremble, the cold air getting to her with the anxiety of meeting one of Amelia's friends this early in the morning. Amelia noticed immediately and furrowed her eyebrows together. She started searching through her jacket pocket trying to find her car keys.

"Isabella, how many times have I told you to keep a spare jacket in your car? You're going to get sick again and the last time you got sick and ignored it, you ended up in this hospital. Is that what you want again? I won't bring you pudding cups this time!" Amelia softly scolded, dragging Carina and Isabella to her car right down the sidewalk to grab a spare jacket that she always kept for the woman. How could Isabella be so forgetful of these things when she is in charge of people? She would never know. Carina smirked and watched as Isabella's blush intensified. "I....I was running out the door to make it to our coffee date! It isn't my fault, I hate waking up early." Isabella stammered out her reply with a whine at the end as Amelia forced her arm's into the jacket like a child. She began pouting as it was zipped up before she could argue with it all. Even if she got sick, it didn't automatically mean she would end up in the hospital and then for Amelia to threaten no pudding cups? Absolutely horrid behavior if anyone was wondering what she thought.
