The woods were a comforting thing to look at, always had been. Everybody he knew was terrified of them, he was never able to understand why.
How could he be terrified of something so peaceful. In its enormous size, it gave home to many. How can one be scared of that.
He knew why. The stories, the folklore surrounding them. But, he had never been one to pay too much attention to fairy tales.
And also, how could he be scared of a legendary creature no one has ever witnessed, in comparison to the monster living under his own roof.
He heard footsteps climbing up the stairs, nearing his room.
In hindsight, a Skinwalker might actually be an angel compared.
21st of May, 2021 [QUANTICO, Virginia - BAU bullpen]
"I'll let you know, the jokes are getting incredibily stale" lamented Luke.
"The only reason why they're getting stale is because your mom told you the same thing a million times before" grinned Tara, following the man into the bullpen.
"Ok, see? I am yet to hear you make a funny joke that does not involve my mother" Luke continued.
Tara was about to respond, but right then Emily chose to enter the room.
"Sorry to interrupt what I am sure was a riveting conversation, but we have a case, and a complicated one at that" she said, with a look that could only be described as amusement and apology.
"Exactly what I needed to wake up this morning" was the answer that came from Rossi, who had wisely chosen to stay out of Luke and Tara's bickering.
"We're local today, women in their 30s were found stabbed in their apartament. All lived alone, no nearby family, good neighborhoods, education, and all dressed like they had just gotten off from a date."
Three women, beautiful ones at that. Kelly Martin, Loise Hernandez and Julie Anderson.
"So our Unsub is the charming type" quipped Spencer.
"Seems like it" agreed JJ
"Any signs of sexual assault?" continued Spencer
"The coroner is still examining the bodies" Emily answered.
"All the kills were apart a week from the other, this guy really like to keep himself busy" added Rossi, looking at info the NYPD had sent them over.
"Yes, and that's quite the worrying aspect. Which is why we're gonna get right to it. So, Luke and Spencer, you're gonna visit the latest crime scene. Tara and JJ, the Julie Anderson's brother has just arrived in New York, apparently the two talked quite a lot, I need you both to see if he has any info. Rossi, Matt and I will coordinate with the PD, while Pen, I need you to dig as deep as you can to know how they got to know this man. Apparently their history was erased, I need you to retrieve as much as you can."
"Aye Aye my love!"
The case was, for lack of a better terminology, a pain in the ass.
