The next morning, the sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains of Beyoncé's suite, casting a warm, golden glow over the room. She stirred awake slowly, feeling the comforting weight of YN's arm draped over her waist. For a moment, she simply lay there, taking in the peacefulness of the morning and the soft rhythm of YN's breathing beside her.
As the events of the previous night came flooding back, Beyoncé couldn't help but smile. It had been everything she'd hoped for and more—a night that wasn't just about physical intimacy but about deepening a bond that felt increasingly significant. She hadn't expected to find something so real on this trip, yet here she was, feeling more connected to YN than she'd felt to anyone in a long time.
Carefully, Beyoncé turned to face YN, wanting to take in the sight of her as she slept. YN's face was relaxed, her features softened in slumber, and Beyoncé felt a wave of affection wash over her. She reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair away from YN's forehead, marveling at how natural it felt to be here with her, in this moment.
As if sensing Beyoncé's gaze, YN began to stir, her eyes fluttering open. When she saw Beyoncé looking at her, a slow, sleepy smile spread across her face.
"Morning," YN murmured, her voice husky from sleep.
"Morning," Beyoncé replied, her own smile widening. She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to YN's lips, feeling a spark of warmth at the contact.
YN responded to the kiss, deepening it for just a moment before pulling back slightly, her eyes searching Beyoncé's face. "How are you feeling?" she asked, her tone gentle but laced with concern.
Beyoncé knew what she was really asking—if she had any second thoughts about what they'd shared last night. But there wasn't a doubt in her mind.
"I feel good," Beyoncé said honestly. "I feel... happy."
YN's smile widened, her relief palpable. "I'm glad," she said, leaning in to kiss Beyoncé again, this time more lingering, as if savoring the taste of her lips. "Last night was... incredible."
"It was," Beyoncé agreed, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on YN's arm. "It felt like something we both needed."
YN nodded, her expression turning serious. "It did. I'm not sure how we're going to make this work, but I know I want to try."
Beyoncé's heart skipped a beat at the sincerity in YN's voice. She had been thinking about the same thing—how their lives would intertwine after this trip. She wasn't ready to let YN go, but the realities of their lives loomed large.
"I want that too," Beyoncé admitted, her voice soft but firm. "We'll figure it out. But for now, let's just enjoy the time we have here."
YN smiled, her hand reaching up to cup Beyoncé's cheek. "Deal. I'm not ready to let you go just yet."
They lay there for a while longer, basking in the quiet intimacy of the morning. The connection they shared felt more real with each passing moment, and Beyoncé found herself dreading the end of the trip. But she pushed those thoughts aside, choosing to focus on the present, on the warmth of YN's body against hers, and the sense of peace she felt in her arms.
Eventually, the sound of Beyoncé's phone buzzing on the nightstand pulled them out of their bubble. She reached over, grabbing it and seeing a message from Solange.
Solange: Where are you, B? We're about to head down for breakfast. You coming?
Beyoncé glanced at the time and realized it was already mid-morning. They had slept in, lost in their own world, and she hadn't even thought to check in with her friends. Guilt tugged at her for a moment, but it was quickly replaced by a sense of determination. She wanted to spend the day with YN, to continue building on what they had started.
She looked at YN, who was watching her with an understanding smile. "Looks like the girls are wondering where I am," Beyoncé said, holding up her phone.
YN nodded, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "You should go see them. We've got the rest of the day."
Beyoncé hesitated for a moment, not wanting to leave the comfort of YN's embrace, but she knew YN was right. She had promised herself she wouldn't neglect her friends, and she didn't want to start now.
"I'll be back soon," Beyoncé promised, leaning in to steal one last kiss before reluctantly slipping out of bed.
YN watched her with a smile as she got dressed, the easygoing nature of their morning making Beyoncé's heart swell. There was something special here, something worth holding on to, and as she headed out the door to meet her friends, she couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement for what the day—and the future—might bring.
