| Day 100 out of 3652 | Days left to pay El Diablo: 7 |
I stood in my driveway, hands cuffed over my head, watching the repo man drive away in my Bugatti. The engine's growl fading into the distance felt like the last thread of control slipping through my fingers. Never in my life did I think I'd be in this position, watching my shit get towed, like I was some regular nigga struggling with bills. But here I was, prioritizing what payment went out first, like I never was on top.
In less than six months, my whole life flipped upside down. Sean was dead, Breezy locked up, and Mijo, man... he was trying but struggling to hold the weight down with me. The business was slipping, and no matter what I did, it felt like it wasn't enough.
I'm not going to front, I fucked up by doubting Amarie. I should've known she was built for this, especially after all the shit we've been through. She didn't just hold it down; she leveled up, and the entire city saw it. I was taking a significant hit. Meanwhile, I'm out here losing cars and assets. She's out there stacking bread and running this empire like it's second nature.
Amarie took over everything. At first, I didn't know how to feel about it. I wanted to retaliate, but I had to keep reminding myself that it was my sister, and to be fair, she had given me a warning. But now? I gotta give her props. She held it down better than I expected. Our profits were dropping by the day and I didn't know how to get out of this mess.
Of course, that 20k was just temporary until we got the business back on its feet, but when she came in demanding shit like she was the same old Amarie? That hit my ego hard. I wasn't about to let her think she ran this organization when she didn't put in the blood, sweat, and tears to build it from the ground up like Breezy and I did. She wasn't there when we made the moves that gave OHB/LK its name, and now she think she can step in and call the shots? Nah, I wasn't having that.
OHB's name still held weight, so I wasn't surprised some niggas jumped ship, but I didn't expect this many. Word on the street is the way Amarie's running the organization, shit's moving smoother, tighter, and way more organized. No drama, no slip-ups, just straight business. They've been pushing Last Kings out of the game, and I never thought I'd see the day.
All my clientele was flocking to Amarie, even though her people hadn't even touched my blocks or hot spots. Word hit the streets quickly: OHB was going independent, and they all switched sides. She didn't just take my clients; she snatched up a majority of my soldiers, too, leaving me with the bottom of the barrel. I could see the loyalty clear as day. I knew where I stood now.
What really got me tight was hearing they weren't hitting just the blocks, but high-profile spots. I didn't know how Amarie pulled that off, but it was bringing in the big bucks. Mijo had a solider working as an informant solider within OHB, funneling in that product they are moving. Grade A shit, but so was mine. But who was her plug? I still couldn't figure that out. We weren't pushing it, just keeping tabs on her movements to see why we were in this position.
