With an exaggerated sigh, I trap the textbooks needed for three tests for a few of my classes to my chest since I refused to lose a mark on the end of term exam.

My bag lingering off my shoulder as I press the phone to my ear, nodding my head along to the man who refuses to allow me to get a word in. I volunteered to help the teachers with planning for the yearly tour our school funds to anywhere students cast the most vote for. This year the suggestions were the plantation lands suggested by our history teacher to study on how Africans were treated during their journey to America and their experiences there, the medical museum suggested by the science teacher since a museum recently opened on the edge of town, hot air balloon riding suggested by our physical education teacher alongside a grand day of exercise at the gymnasium where we'd see some of Easton's world class gymnasts practice and we'd even join in on if we where ever so lucky which was suggested by Ms. Carter before she left on maternity leave, which she'd admitted she only chose because she had no idea where students wanted to go.

Can you guest which place I casted my vote?

Ah, yes the medical museum.

The only place I could face the future I so badly wanted for myself without having my parents worry about it or mention their concerns. The students were at tie though, with 79 wanting the medical museum and 121 choosing the hot balloon rides, however the teachers and I were the only ones who knew about this and we had sworn secrecy to not mention it to anyone else.

Of course I wanted to visit the museum and face the diagrams of what the body had to offer and if I were so lucky mum and dad were to allow me to go to med school, I'd simply not picked the hot air balloons because I was a bit teensy tiny, kinda mighta, maybe a little sorta bit terrified of heights.

It's not like I won't stand above a scaling cliff but simply that my throat would close up, heart would tighten and my head would envison moments of what ifs and possible deaths I may experience which is why standing feets close to the sky and having to look down would make me spiral and puke, if I was being honest. But nevermind that, what was giving me a headache currently was the man to secure a date at both the museum and the park on the same day however he makes excuses after excuses that both places could be packed on both days and babbles so much that I huff, parting my lips to speak.

Already I'd made up my mind to leave school a bit earlier whilst promising Jane I'd more than likely sleep over at her house once the situation between Theo and I cleared up.

I studied my apology back and front and simply could not forget it as I found myself repeating it whilst washing my hands, eating lunch while silently reading and packing shelves in the library since I had two free periods.
