(I'm back after a long hiatus. There's probably gonna be another, I've been hella busy. Got 3 concerts, 2 birthdays and a wedding this month lmao)

--No One's Pov--

A few weeks go by. Billie and Emilia still haven't spoken, just making short lived eye contact if they saw each other with the occasional wave. They both keep repeating the same mantra; it's for the best. However, even though Emilia has seemingly moved on, Billie just couldn't. She can't.

Everything was more difficult than ever. More of her people were disappearing. Finneas mentioned not seeing Jonah since the meet up a week ago. Best guess was he skipped town. She had a bad feeling. Blake hadn't seen anything, which also worried her. There was something seriously fucked up happening though it was hard to tell just what the cause was.

There was a need lately. Nothing short of a simple fuck to get her through the pain. Though she couldn't act on it. Can't bring herself to. She just wanted to feel something with someone. Tara offers but Billie kindly declines, stating it'd be better if they didn't do that again, not that Tara minded of course, she knew exactly how Billie was feeling.

She saw Emilia again, this time with Quinn as she left her house. There was an underlying sense that Quinn was looking for something. Maybe she was just jealous that she isn't the one that was making Emilia happy anymore.

Billie gets in her car, sitting there for a moment with the engine running. Maybe she could visit the vampire's club, find some kind of distraction. She was just physically and mentally tired. She couldn't keep trying to chase a girl she knew she wasn't getting back with. She scoffs softly, the sudden thought of fucking a prostitute making her feel weird... though she wouldn't knock it. Maybe a cold drink is what she needed, maybe there was some sort of drug she could take to numb the pain, the loneliness.

--Tara's Pov--

I had a feeling Billie would visit the den. However, when she grabbed me and all but dragged me to one of the private rooms, I could tell she was just looking for contact at this point. But I couldn't. Even when she tried to kiss me, touch me.

I gently push her back, "Bils. Listen, I understand you're upset, I get it, but that was a one time thing."

Billie growls in frustration, her tone unmatched as she speaks. "I just need something, Tara. Any-fucking-thing to make me feel better."

"But will it?" I watch as she sits down on the leather couch. She cracks her knuckles. Her face was hard to read, but what was racing through her mind was crystal clear. I was quick to join her when she let out a shaky breath, leaning down to rest her head in her hands.

I had a feeling this would happen. I'm quick to wrap my arms around her as she cries. "It's okay," I whisper, rubbing her head.

"It's just not the same."

"I know."

Billie shakes her head. "Why does our lives have to be so fucked up? Is it too much to ask for even a small taste of normal?"

I let out a sarcastic chuckle. "Yeah, this is totally normal."

"I swear, sometimes I just want to go next door and tell her how much I still care for her. But I know she's with Quinn... something about that girl rubs me the wrong way."

"Quinn's as clean as they come. I knew her in high school. Her dad is a therapist. I've met Ivan before, he's pretty cool."

Billie sniffles. "Maybe I'm just trying to find something that isn't there."

"Or maybe it's not you, but your other side. That wolf of yours is pretty fucking loyal, as are all of you."

"I've fucked up so much, T. I don't blame her for not wanting me."
