A/N ignore the old comments that still remain, I'm too lazy lmao

--No-one's Pov--

A long four months passed since that night. Going through a constant rotation of anger, depression and guilt, Emilia didn't like the idea of being the reason Billie left town. The reason Tara couldn't come in to see her anymore, or visit for that matter. The reason that there was hardly any communication at all.

She stared at the driveway across the street, the sun nearly set, still processing the absence of Billie's black Challenger.

She reacted horribly, said some things she didn't mean, and ended up pushing everyone away. All while figuring out that she was a witch and her brother was a seer.

She looked at her phone, thumbs hovering over the keyboard as she hesitated to text Billie. Something she's been doing for the past 2 months. She couldn't bring herself to text her, mostly in fear of Billie shutting her out completely. Not that she hasn't already done that.

She remembered looking out of the window the day Billie came back to get her car. How she was in a rush to leave and managing to get into an argument with Finneas before she left.

All she could remember was the way Billie looked when she did leave - visible anger on her face as she yelled at Finneas, punching him out as he tried to stop her. An expression she'd never seen on Billie before and it scared her. Not because of the unmistakable resentment but because she didn't know what Billie would do to others around her...to herself.

A knock on her door made her turn to see Blake peeping his head around, a calm expression on his face when he asked if he could come in.

"Sure." Emilia answered softly, walking to sit on the edge of her unmade bed.

Her room had been the same for months. Occasionally bringing herself to clean if she knew someone was coming to visit, if her mom told her to straighten up or doing her laundry when she was running low on clean clothes. Other than that she'd go to work then come back home to shower and sleep.

Blake sighed as he looked around at the gathering dust. "Mom wants to know if you want your food now?"

She shrugs, bouncing her leg as she tries to decide if she wants to eat or not. "Just tell her to put it in the microwave or something. I'm not hungry."

"Sis, you really need to eat something. I understand you're still upset about Billie-"

"Not just her."

"I don't wanna be that person that tells you so, but you are the one who basically told them to fuck off."

Emilia shook her head. "I was going through a lot that night-"

"So were other people, Em. Or are you forgetting about Macy, about Ali? About me?"

She wanted to make a snappy remark but she knew he had a point. So much happened to many that night and in the many weeks after. All while she tried to better understand her magic, not that her father wasn't any help at the moment.

After trying to teach her how to control her magic and how to do spells, he left without a word. History repeated itself but this time he didn't send a letter or write a note. He just up and disappeared.

"I'm sorry, B. I know I'm acting pretty selfish."

He sighed. "I know you miss her. I know you miss Tara. Think it's time to repair those bridges?"

"I don't think they want anything to do with me. I don't blame them."

"Whatever you decide to do, I'm here for you and so is Macy."
