"Hey, how's Hamza's mom doing?" Ziya asked as she stepped onto the bus.
"She's back home now," I replied, smiling. "I was at his place yesterday, and I had such a great time. Hamza's mom is so sweet!"
"Well, of course," Ziya said with a playful smirk. "You are the future daughter-in-law, after all. She has to be nice to you."
I rolled my eyes and quickly changed the subject. "So, what was going on with you and Raza? What did you two even talk about?"
"Oh, nothing really," she said, brushing it off. "He likes me. Actually, he told me he was in love from the moment he saw me, but I'm not sure I believe that whole 'love at first sight' thing."
I grinned. "I could see it in his eyes when he looked at you. He's head over heels, trust me."
Ziya's face softened, and she blinked back happy tears. "Why do both of us have men who fell for us the moment they saw us?"
I pulled her into a warm hug. "Maybe we're just that lucky," I whispered. "Or maybe it's because God loves us."
She smiled through her tears, wiping them away, and nodded.

We arrived at school, and I couldn't wait to tell my friends about my visit to Hamza's house and how kind his mom had been to me. I was happily chatting with them in Hamza's classroom when I heard a voice from behind.
"Never thought he'd fall for you," the voice said, with a hint of teasing.
I turned around, curious to see who had spoken, and was stunned. In front of me stood a girl so beautiful, I had to blink in surprise. She had smooth, pale skin, striking grey eyes, and long, straight black hair that flowed all the way down her back. She looked like a goddess, and her beauty left me speechless.
"Excuse me, and who exactly are you?" Narjis asked, stepping in front of me like my personal bodyguard. No one was surprised—classic Narjis move."I wasn't talking to you," the goddess shot back, barely glancing at her, then flicked her eyes back to me like I was the only one worth her time.

I stepped in front of Narjis again, standing tall. "So, who are you? I don't think I've seen you around before," I asked, keeping my voice steady. She smirked, not bothered at all. "That's because I don't spend my time hanging out with a group like yours," she said with a hint of sarcasm. Her quick reply surprised me for a moment, but I didn't let it show. Before I could say anything else, she leaned in slightly, her eyes sharp. "How do you know Hamza?"I stayed calm, not intimidated. I wasn't scared—my friends were right behind me, ready in case things went sideways. But they stayed quiet, knowing that if they jumped in, it could make things worse. This was my battle to handle.

"And why should I tell you that?" I shot back, raising an eyebrow, refusing to back down."Because I'm his ex-girlfriend," she said, her words hitting me like a punch. For a moment, I couldn't say anything. My throat felt tight, and my mind went blank. I slowly turned around, looking for some kind of comfort. Ziya was the first person I saw, her eyes full of apology, giving me an *I'm so sorry* look. Then I looked at Sona, who was standing beside Ziya. She saw the expression on my face, and without saying a word, she took my hand and gently pulled me away. "I think we'll catch up later. Bye," she said over her shoulder, her voice calm but firm.Sona led me to our classroom, holding my hand tightly, almost like she was keeping me together. I followed her silently, still in shock from what I had just heard.

If Hamza had dated someone as gorgeous as her, why on earth would he fall for me? I didn't have her kind of beauty. At that moment, it hit me—I didn't stand a chance."Sehar, you're beautiful, no matter what. And Hamza likes you, he loves you," Ziya said, as if she could read my mind. "He told me that himself." Before I could respond, Yami chimed in with her usual sass. "Oh, come on , you seriously think she's better than you? Trust me, it's all makeup." I couldn't help but smile."Whatever," Alia added, wrapping her arm around me. "No one can even come close to Sehar's beauty—not even that so-called goddess.""Guys, why are we even calling her a goddess?" Anjana said, scrunching up her nose in disgust."I know, right?!" Yami, Anu, and Ziya said together, rolling their eyes.

The whole day, I couldn't stop thinking about that girl. We didn't run into her again after the first time, but I kept sneaking glances whenever I saw her. She was drop-dead gorgeous. I couldn't even blame Hamza for dating her.I made up my mind to go to Hamza's house straight after school. From the bus, I called my mom and let her know I was getting off at his place. She reminded me to be home by 9. I told Ziya about my plan. "Just don't bring up the girl yet," she warned. "He'll tell you when he's ready."She was right. What if he wasn't ready to talk about her? I decided I wouldn't ask him about the so-called goddess, at least not yet.
