Sonic Boom : The Ruins Of Buddy Buddy Temple

Chapter 1 : The Tumble

We open to a shot of the overgrown forested area of Bygone Island. Cliffs and mountain tops protruded out of the sea of green. The tree leaves dance softly in the cool summer air. Suddenly a blue flash of light zips through the trees as a gust of wind rattles the leaves. Following shortly behind, a red blur speeds in the same direction, shaking the same branches as well.

“Wow Faker, I didn’t realize your temper is as short as your stamina!” Sonic quips, turning his head to see a very steamed Shadow hot on his tail.

“You're going to regret underestimating me, hedgehog!” Shadow Chaos Controls to Sonic’s side, knocking him into a cliff wall. Shadow eases his rocket skates to a halt as he looks to the cloud of dust clearing around Sonic. Sonic pulls himself to his feet and groans in annoyance, dusting himself off.

“Ugg! Shadow, what's this about now? If Eggman convinced you that I've been talking smack about you again, then you're more gullible than I thought.” Sonic spin-dashes at Shadow, knocking his rival across the dirt a couple of paces. As Sonic lands, Shadow huffs unimpressed.

“I told you that you would regret underestimating me, and now you're really going to regret not shutting your mouth!” Shadow Chaos Controls behind Sonic and kicks him in the back of the head. While Sonic was down Shadow grabs him by the leg, spins him around, and throws Sonic back into the same cliff wall. Apon Sonic's impact, the layer of rocks and boulders breaks, revealing a cavern behind the cliff wall. A long stone hallway with hieroglyphics on the walls is revealed as the dust clears.

“Well that’s one way of breaking walls down.” Sonic humors yet again as he clamors to his feet, looking behind him to see the now exposed temple. “Alright Shadow, you had your fun, but I promised Amy that I would help her bake cookies for the gang and she’ll have my quills if I'm late!” Sonic continues.

“Enough of your excuses! Quit being a coward and fight me, or are you that scared of being beaten by me?” Shadow retorts. Sonic’s ears perk up, an irritated smirk now growing across his face.

“Oh ho ho! fakers got jokes huh?" Sonic Chuckles at the challenge. "Well, If you really want to fight…” Sonic backs up a bit further into the temple, “Then you're going to have to catch me first!” Then boom! He dashes into the temple, his trail lit up in a flash of light. Shadow races into the temple, readying himself for a real fight as he catches up to Sonic.

From behind a nearby tree, one of Eggman’s fly-bots captures the whole scene. The doctor himself is revealed to be sitting at his main control room’s monitor, Orbot and Cubot being at his side.

“Hey boss, whatcha watchin?” Cubot asks in his usual dimwitted stupor.

“Zip it!” Eggman snaps, “Didn’t I ask you two to finish cleaning my lab?” Eggman spins around in his chair to face his henchmen.

“We finished and returned to you to ask for our next task, only to find you here spying on Sonic and Shadow.” Orbot says, “But now upon further inspection, that area the two hedgehogs are squabbling in is giving me a sense of deja vu.”

“Yeah, and that place looks familiar too!” Cubot adds.

“Hold on a second, those hieroglyphs…. They're the same as the ones in the Buddy-Buddy temple!" Eggman exclaims. "But that's impossible, me and Sonic ended up destroying the place after escaping.”
