Hinami had not expected them to wait the whole five days for everyone make it to the tower. Over the past few days other teams had made it to the tower. Hinami was surprised that Naruto's team wasn't among them. They had pretty solid team but she was a bit worried since she knew some of the shinobi would be targetting their team because of Sasuke. The Uchiha boy was of course this year's favourite to win the chunin exams of the ten rookies.
The door opened and two teams entered the room but neither of those teams were Naruto's team. “Ayame isn't here yet.”
Hinami turned to her teammate who were sat beside her. The blue haired girl looked over to the Nara boy whose gaze was on the door. He was expecting her to enter at any moment but every team that comes through that door wasn't her team. “You worried about her or Sasuke?” Gino questioned.
Minha elbowed the boy in his ribs. “I'm not that boy crazy, okay? I'm obviously worried about Ayame.”
Gino hummed as if he wasn't actually believing her. The boy looked over to her friend who was just scouting the room. She was trying to figure out how many of those currently present was strong enough to go up against. They couldn't be worried about other people when they were here for a reason.
“Hina, aren't you worried about Naruto?” Gino asked. “You were the one who didn't want to take their scroll.”
Hinami shook her head. “We don't have time to be worrying about others. We'll be going up against anyone here, so start worrying about yourselves,” Hinami told the boy. The two teammates shared a glance as they looked at their friend. They knew without even her saying it that she was worried about Naruto.
It was nearing the end of the last day and Naruto's team still hadn't made it. Everyone in the room's attention was pulled to the door inside the building that had just opened. They all watched in amazement as the jounin and chunin shinobi of the different villages came up to a podium and lastly, the Hokage made himself known.
“Woah, I kind of forgot that Lord Third was going to be watching the final exam,” Gino mumbled and as if just on time the last team entered the room. Everyone turned around to the four rookies who looked ragged and exhausted.
The four was almost immediately surrounded by the other six rookies who surprisingly all made it through the Forest of Death. They were checking up on the four to make sure they were okay.
Hinami wasn't surprised to see the big smile on Naruto's his face at all. Ayame had a polite smile telling Shikamaru that she was okay even though she had scratched and bruises all over her body, while Sakura had a frown and she kept glancing at Sasuke which pulled Hinami's gaze to him. She could see the boy's brow furrowed as he winced. He was trying to play it off and hide it but Hinami could see in how much pain he actually was.
She was curious to know what they had encountered that left them battered and bruised like that, especially Ayame and Sasuke.
Everyone's attention was pulled to one of the jounin who asked them all to line up.
“First of all, congratulations on finishing the second exam,” Anko-sensei said to the remaining shinobi who had made it through the second test.
“Everyone is here. Why is everyone here?” Gino asked with suspicion.
“I don't like the feeling I'm getting,” Hinami commented, her eyes trained on the jounin in front of them. Misra-sensei made eye contact with her and she frowned as if to ask what was going on but Misra only nodded.“Yeah, same, especially since there's so many who actually passed the second test,” Minha added. They would surely try to get rid of some since they were a lot more than expected.
