Firey's POV
I'm playing Uno with my roommate Leafy when there's a knock at the door. Worst timing ever because I was about to win, but I get up from the bed and open the door. It's Coiny, and he's a wreck. He's crying. I know he's been my rival for years, but it's moments like this where I know I have to be a friend.
"Coiny, what's wrong?" Leafy asks, peeking out from behind me.
"It's *sniff* Pin..."
"What about her?"
"She *sniff* was kissing *sniff* Needle..."
"I'm so sorry. Is there anything we can do for you?" I say, taking him into my arms.
"Do you *sniff* mind if I *sniff* crash here for the night? I don't *sniff* think I can *sniff* face her again."
"Yes, of course. Come in."
"Thanks."
I settle Coiny in. By now it's about 10 o'clock, and Leafy's already in bed. So it's just Coiny and I on the couch. I take a seat next to him.
"Thanks again for letting me stay the night, Firey."
"Hey, it's no problem. We may be rivals, but good rivals need to know when to be friends. So, how do you know Pin and Needle kissed?"
"Oh, well I came back early from Blocky's place, and I heard giggling coming from her room, and opened the door a little. Then I saw them, well..." the mere thought of it brought Coiny close to tears.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do this to you," I apologize, wrapping my arms around him. His body is warm and cold all at the same time, and it feels nice.
Coiny's POV
We continue to hug for who knows how long, and we eventually stop, leaving me to lay down on my temporary bed.
"Firey?" I ask tentatively.
"Mhm?"
"Can you... sleep with me?" I can see he's really shocked. He turns to me.
"What's that meant to mean?"
"No, I didn't mean it that way, just as... you know..."
"Uh... sure?"
He lies down next to me. I can feel myself warming up in his presence, so I take off my orange and red hoodie and set it aside, leaving my shirt on. Firey notices.
"I was meaning to ask you, why is your hoodie orange and red? Isn't it orange and yellow?"
"Well, I figured I should get one with red on it so it matched Pin better. Guess I don't need it anymore."
"Once again, I'm so sorry about that."
"Oh no, it's fine."
"Sure?"
"Yes, now can we go to sleep?"
"Yeah, of course."
Firey's POV
I lay on back, trying to get some rest, when Coiny rolls over and cuddles me. It really caught me off guard, but I stroked his curly orange hair slowly. Then I could feel something on my hand. He's holding it. I turn red and close my eyes. I've never been this close to someone else, apart from maybe the time that Leafy fell asleep on top of me in the middle of a movie. I can hear his soft breathing as he gradually falls into a deep slumber.
Leafy's POV
I wake up, realizing I'm really thirsty. I get up to get a glass of water when I notice Firey on the couch. Isn't Coiny sleeping there? I inch closer to get a better look, and find out that Coiny is cuddling Firey. Firey is still awake.
"What are you doing?" I whisper to not wake Coiny up. Firey turns to me and puts a finger on his lips. I smile. They are made for each other.
I'm tryna get everything out on the weekend to make up for uploading little to no new content on the weekdays. Anyways, I'll see you in the next one!- Zi
