Ruby's POV
Love in Iance can get very messy. First, Pencil and Match, then Bubble and Fanny, then Snowball and Lightning. But Bubble and Fanny broke up, because Fanny was cheating on her with Snowball, who also broke up with Lightning. Then Match claimed she had had enough of Pencil, and left her, then got back together with her, and now Bubble's found another partner, who she refuses to name. It's stayed this way ever since. But there are two of us who haven't found love. Me and Flower. It's strange, because I have a crush on her, but I doubt she likes anyone at all. I mean, she's softened up over BFB, which was really nice to see, but as far as I'm concerned, she doesn't like anyone. I keep watching her from a distance, from her podcast appearance, to her chasing Blocky because he jumped on her back. She's as beautiful as she has been.
Flower's POV
How can someone be so damn optimistic all the time? It's like she can't feel sadness. Well, there was the time she asked me out, and I rejected her. That was the only time I've ever seen her unhappy. She didn't leave her room for about a week, and every time I tried to comfort her, she never answered, or told me to go away. She just ignored me. I have to admit, that hurt. But maybe I'll say yes next time. If there even is a next time.
Bubble's POV
I'm playing truth or dare with my partner, who I am not naming because I don't want anybody to know just yet, until I know whether this'll work. Not even you. So I dare her to give some Yoylejuice, which contains the most powerful alcohol recorded, to a person of her choice. I watch as she reluctantly nods.
"Fine, but only if you do the same thing after."Flower's POV
I just about to knock on Ruby's door when someone walks up to me. It's Lollipop, and she's holding a... drink? Why?
"Drink this."
"Well, that depends on what that is."
"Just trust me. I am your ex."
"Yeah, and that's exactly why I'm not trusting you here." But she has that look which shows she's not taking no as an answer. I sigh.
"Fine, but only if you'll go away." I grab the glass a drink it. At first, I don't feel anything, but soon I start to feel dizzy, and my legs won't move when I tell them to, and my eyes begin to close. I have to get to Ruby's room.Ruby's POV
I'm reading a book called How Not To Win Dream Island, which was actually written by Leafy, when I hear a banging on my door. I fold the corner of the page in and get up to open it. It's Flower, but she looks... different. She's not herself. Before I can say anything, she stumbles into my room.
"Flower? Is everything OK?"
"Mhm... yesz. Everything is juzt fine..." she replied as she flops down onto my bed.
"Are you sure? You don't look very goo-" I'm unable to finish my sentence before she grabs me and sits me down on the bed.
"Szit." She orders, but her weird voice made it sound not threatening at all. She then takes my hands, which catches me really off guard, and pulls me closer to her. I don't like where this is going. Flower then kisses me. At this point, I don't try to resist, I just melt into it. I can feel her tongue sliding into my mouth, and that's when I pull out.
"Aww, already? But I want to kissz szome more..."
"Flower, this isn't you. You been acting strange this whole time."
"What... do you mean? I've been perfectly... normal thisz whole... time," she insists, her words punctuated by hiccups.
"Look, I'm your very best friend, and you aren't like this. Listen to yourself. You've been hiccuping this entire time."
"No, I'm..." Her eyes are closing now.
"Flower? Are you okay? Flower?" She's not responding to me. She falls back on the bed, motionless. I think she's fainted.Flower's POV
I wake up in a red room, and I'm on a bed. I look to my left, and there's a book titled How Not To Win Dream Island, and to my right, Ruby's sitting on the edge of the bed. How did I get here?
"Where... am I?" I groan.
"Well, you're in my room. You fainted."
"Yeah, but how?"
"So, you see, you kissed me, and it wasn't even like a peck or anything, it was full on. You even tried tongue kissing! Then you fainted." Ruby explains, almost giggling. I turn red in embarrassment.
"Oh Ruby, I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened. The last thing I remember was Lollipop and-" Ruby places a finger on my still open mouth.
"Shhh... it's gonna be alright. It actually felt kind of nice. But I do have a question. Did you mean it?"
I stop to think. Maybe I do like her. "Yes," is my eventually answer. Ruby just stares into nothingness before replying, "Oh."
"I guess you don't feel the same."
"No, I do, but it's just that this is a huge step in our friendship. Do you want to take it?"
"I mean, yeah, of course." Ruby climbs onto her bed, and I shuffle over to make space. Ruby snuggles up to me, while we slowly fall into a deep sleep, for the first time as a couple.
