"Well, I- um- you see-" Needle stuttered. Confessing was hard.
"Face it, she's not gonna say yes," Eraser shouted from a distance. "Ouch! Pen!" he exclaimed after being elbowed.
"It's gonna be fine, Needle!" Pen tried to help, but she was already gone, and most likely in tears.
"Can someone please tell me what happened?" Pin asked.
Pin's POV
I try to look for Needle, partly so I can figure out what she was talking about. But mostly because she's one of my best friends.
I think she may be in her room. She stayed there when she came back after disappearing for a while after she got eliminated. Probably upset with herself, and she just stayed in her room. But that room is her refuge from everything else, so I knock.
"Needle? Everything OK?"
"Yeah, everything's fine!"
"Come on, Needle. I've been best friends with you since BFDIA, and I know you! Just open up."
"Fine, the door's unlocked."
"You... like me?"
"I'm so sorry, this was probably a waste of time and-"
"No, Needle... this wasn't a waste of time and, if it helps, I'm willing to give it a shot," I whisper softly, brushing aside a strand of silvery hair from her eyes.
"I... really?" she asks, looking up.
"Yes, but don't tell anyone. I don't want Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again finding out that their heroic team leader is soft or anything."
"Not even Coiny?"
"Not even Coiny." And she leans into my arms, before we hug. For a long, long time.
"I love you," Needle says.
Coiny's POV
I go to check up on Needle, but there's already someone else in there.
"Not even Coiny?"
"Not even Coiny." It's Pin and Needle. Why are they talking about me? It's silent for a bit before Needle speaks again. "I love you." WHAT?!?!?!
Do I want them to know that I know? Oh, but they'll find out that I was eavesdropping, and they'll hate me. Maybe I should just act normal for a bit.
"Oh, hey Coiny!" I turn around to see Pin and Needle smiling at me.
"Oh, um- hi!"
"Is everything OK?" Needle asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Mhm. Yep. Everything is uh... great!"
"Good! Now, we should probably get ready for the next challenge. It's in... ten minutes! Bye Needle!" Pin shouts as she run off towards where the other Death P.A.C.T.ers are. I run after her, still contemplating tell them that I know they're... a thing.
Pin's POV
"We were so lucky that the other teams are a lot worse than us, because if it wasn't for that stupid Snowba-"
"Woah, calm down there Pin. The important thing is that you're definitely not getting out."
"I guess not, but if I get out, at least I have someone to actually be with," I reply, smiling at Needle.
"What about Coiny?"
"Eh, after the eliminated contestants got released, he's been hanging out a lot with Snowball and Eraser. I don't mind, though. Between you and me, he's a bit annoying, now that he thinks he's one of 'the cool kids'."
"That reminds me! How are Saw and Gaty doing?"
"Gaty tells me it's going really well. They really seem to be made for each other."
"I'm glad it's working out. It's nice watching the Team8ers grow..." Needle sits in silence for a bit, deep in thought. "Are you sure you don't want to tell Coiny?" I sigh. "We've been over this. We're not to tell him, or anyone else, until we're through with this competition. Got it?"
"WHY WON'T YOU TELL ME, AND HOW AM I ANNOYING?" Shoot. I think he's been listening to us.
"Coiny, listen-"
"LISTEN TO WHAT? YOUR EXCUSES?" Coiny shouts. After some heaving breathing, tears begin to well up in his eyes. "Don't you trust me?"
"Coiny, of course we trust you. I just think that if anyone knows that we're... you know, then they'll think I'm soft... and a team leader can't be soft! That's not how it works!" I begin to cry as well. Coiny's expression softens, as he comforts me. "Pin, even when you're in a relationship, the way I look at you will never change. In fact, I'm really happy that your girlfriend is my other best friend!"
"So... you forgive us?" Needle asked.
"Of course! Just don't try to hide anything from me again. Both of you."
