I'll admit, I was feeling a little weirded out after that exchange with the Galactic King and Queen. Unlike when my fans were cheering for me, Clarence and Clara's gushy-formal flattery always made me feel awkward rather than thrilled.
But eh, I wasn't in the mood to reflect on that exchange. Honestly, I'm never really in the mood to reflect on anything, because the more time I spend in my head, the less time I get to engage in banters with Jedidiah, or tease Lula.
And now was the best time to do both. I was confident that now was the best time for two awesome things to happen: help the Galactic King and Queen save the Universe, and supersede both my rival and my mentor in all future Cosmic Battles.
Man, I swear...the thought of using Powerblock Prisms to prevent other Cosmic Warriors from getting Battle Scores higher than mine? Hey, not that I'm trying to be a selfish ass, but I mean...the opportunity sounded pretty freakin' amazing.
Not only would I be able to surpass Lula in our tied score, but also supersede Jedidiah. I would be become Supreme Cosmic Warrior...and I'd be able to stay that way!
As Jedidiah, Lula, and I returned to our Estate, my excitement for the opportunity strengthened as Lula and I started working on summoning the resources to build Jedidiah's space yacht.
"Heh," I shot Lula a grin as I flicked my tail and caused a steering wheel to hover toward the deck, completing the creation of the yacht. "Pretty soon, you and Jedidiah will be making space yachts for me. Once I'm rewarded with that Powerblock Prism, I'll be able to threaten you two to use Elemental Powers however I want."
Lula was doing a slow, slithery dance to summon platinum paint over the yacht. When she stopped, she looked my way with her calm smile. "Poor boo. Too caught up in the lust for power to realize how weak he truly is."
I swirled up to her and circled her, maintaining my smirking grin. "I'm never too weak to catch the most atrocious ferrets in the Universe."
I was about to grab her, but she spun away, summoning a bunch of blankets that also spun around her while whipping at my face.
I tumbled back for a second, then quickly regained my vertical position in midair. I dashed after her.
As she spun away in her layers of blankets, I called after her in a sarcastic, teasing tone. "Hah! Ya know, the entire Universe of Ferretopia is warned not to sleep for the next ten days, until the Soul Bandit and his victim are caught. Poor lazy Lula...however is she going to reenergize her Powers without her twenty hours of sleep?"
Lula shot me a smile as she emerged from her layers of blankets. She slowly swirled around the layered networks they formed. "Mm...what makes you think I'll stop sleeping just cuz the Bandit's around? I'm so powerful, I'll capture him in my sleep...before he captures me."
We spent the rest of that evening, darting around each other and shooting competitive, teasing remarks at each other.
Then that night, since all ferrets were advised to avoid sleeping until the Soul Bandit and his victim were caught, I decided to really double-down on that party I planned to throw on Planet V2-3149.
I summoned a black hole that took me to the planet. Then I emerged from the white hole that arrived in front of a tall, copper house, where my best buds—twins Sherwin and Erwin— hosted a pregame.
As I barged through the door with a chill but daring smirk on my face, I entered a room full of noisy, laughing ferrets, many with beer bottles in their hands. I looked around for those twins.
Sherwin and Erwin were both identical brown-and-white ferrets, though Sherwin wore glasses, and he was the more talkative, socially smooth one—the dude was basically like me, except very nerdy and eccentrically creative. And somehow, he was able to mix nerdiness with sexiness— I saw that as he swaggered around some of the females sitting on the couch, his tail was doing a slow, slithery dance that summoned several spinning computers above them, which tilted toward the females, emitting laserbeams that caused wineglasses to form in their hands, their handbags to transform into some of the most expensive brands of purses, and diamond necklaces to form around their necks.
