St. Joseph's School – Kiara and Maya: A Familiar Comfort
The halls of St. Joseph's still carried the familiar scent of old books and polished wood.
Kiara walked down the corridor, feeling the ease of slipping back into a place she knew like the back of her hand.
There was comfort in the same routines, the same faces, and the same surroundings. It wasn't the same as before—her friends were scattered now, in different schools, chasing different dreams—but St. Joseph's still felt like home.
Maya walked beside her, chatting about the latest assignment in journalism club.
She had found her calling, which showed in the sparkle in her eyes as she discussed media ethics and reporting.
For Kiara, the path to becoming an actuary felt just as clear. Mathematics had always been her strength, and the challenge of solving complex problems gave her the rush to stay focused.
As they entered their first class, Kiara couldn't help but smile at the familiar sight of their teacher, Mr.Vivek, writing equations on the board.
Everything felt just like before, except for one noticeable difference—the absence of their usual group. St. Joseph's was now a place of solo endeavors, where Kiara and Maya had to rely on each other more than ever.
"Do you miss them?" Maya asked during a quiet moment as they worked on a project together.
"Every day," Kiara admitted. "But I think it's good for us. We're growing in different ways now, and it feels... right, somehow."
Maya nodded. "Yeah, I know what you mean. This is the time for us to focus on ourselves, I guess."
The pressure to perform well academically was present, but it didn't feel overwhelming. St. Joseph's offered a safe space, one where both Kiara and Maya knew they could excel without the constant burden of competition or proving themselves.
Their days were filled with calm determination, free from the chaos of external pressures. They were thriving in their way, taking each step at a steady pace, knowing they had time to figure things out.
