Riley's POV (I may do this chapter in both, I'm just struggling to think of stuff for Wyatt's)

I grab all my stuff from my locker, attempting to stuff all my binders for the weekend in my light blue LL Bean backpack.

"I'm ready when you are." Says a voice behind me.

I whirl around, startled, nearly hitting myself in the face with a locker door, dropping the binder I was holding.

Wyatt grabs it before it hits the ground and I feel my face flush completely red before taking the binder out of his outreached hand and thanking him.

We haven't even started the car ride yet and I'm already embarrassing myself.

"So, are you ready to go?" He asks again. I feel my face flush an even deeper red before replying.

"Yep!", I respond, probably a little too enthusiastically. I hear a quiet chuckle reverberating through his chest and feel myself flush an even deeper red. I didn't even know it was possible to turn so red.

I follow him to the car in silence, the wheels in my head turning as I try to think of conversation starters for the ride.

Once we reach Wyatt's car, he opens the trunk, tossing his back pack in and motioning for me to do the same.

The same silence follows as we get into the car.

"What music do you want to listen to?" Wyatt asks, tossing him unlocked phone to me. I stared at him, my mouth completely agape.

Wyatt's phone. Unlocked. Sitting in my hand. This guy must have zero trust issues.

"What music do you normally listen to?" I ask him back, slightly embarrassed by my music taste.

Wyatt slightly blushes." I normally just put on my playlist, but I wasn't sure you would like it." He replies.

"Well who's on your playlist?" I prod a little further.

"Mainly classical." He blushes even further.

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Ummm, how about some Coldplay? That's pretty chill." I offer.

"Well, who do you listen to?" Dang it. He asked the question I was trying to avoid.

"I listen to a lot of linkin park, Some Green Day, some Eminem, or whatever my friends are currently playing." I mutter.

At that, he full on laughs. Like, full on belly laughs. Then I remember that we haven't even left the parking lot yet.

"What's so funny?" I ask.

"Sorry. It's not you. That's just not what I thought you would listen to. I more expected you to listen to Taylor Swift, or someone like that. I'm not judging, it just doesn't seem like something you would listen to." Wyatt explains.

I huff, and open up the search bar to find the Coldplay album I wanted to play, Ghost stories. I find the album and hit play. We finally pull out of the parking lot.

"It looks like it's about to storm," Wyatt says.

I look behind me, seeing dark gray clouds absorbing the blue skies. Opening up the weather app, I see that there is a severe thunderstorm warning that lasts until 3 am.

"Yeah. It says on the weather app that there is a severe weather alert starting at five and it's supposed to end at 3 am." I respond

"Mhm." He hums to himself. The rest of the car ride goes in silence.

As we pull into his driveway, Wyatt says, "Ky parents are out of town just so you know."

It has just started to drizzle at this point. "Also, what do you want to do for dinner? We should get something before the weather gets bad." He asks

At those words, a large crack of thunder shakes the house.

"Im cool with whatever." I respond

"Perfect. I'll just order a pizza then." He says.

And with that, my night with Wyatt has just begun.
