After months of grueling training, Taehyung finally had a week of leave. As he sat on the train heading back home, he couldn’t help but feel a mix of emotions.

He missed his family, especially his mother, despite the tension that had clouded their last conversation. But there was also a sense of relief he had survived basic training, and his time with Jin and Jimin had helped him through the worst of it.

The train gently swayed as it sped through the countryside, the rhythmic clacking of the tracks lulling some passengers to sleep.

Taehyung stared out of the window, watching the landscape blur by, lost in thought. That’s when someone sat down across from him.

A boy about his age, maybe a bit younger, slid into the seat opposite Taehyung. He had short, wavy black hair that fell just above his eyes, soft features, and a relaxed posture.

He wore a simple white sweater and jeans, and there was something about him an aura of quiet calm that drew Taehyung’s attention immediately.

At first, Taehyung didn’t think much of it, but as the train pulled away from the next station and the boy settled into his seat, Taehyung found himself stealing glances.

The boy was looking out the window, seemingly unaware of Taehyung’s gaze. His expression was peaceful, but there was a hint of sadness in his eyes, as if he carried a weight he wasn’t ready to share with the world.

TAEHYUNG POV

“Who is he? What’s his story?”Taehyung wasn’t one to believe in love at first sight, but something about the boy stirred feelings in him he couldn’t quite explain. It wasn’t just attraction it was curiosity, a deep pull to know more about this stranger sitting only a few feet away.

AUTHOR'S POV

The train rumbled along, and Taehyung tried to focus on his book, but his thoughts kept drifting back to the boy.

A part of him wanted to say something, to start a conversation, but he hesitated. What would he even say? He wasn’t great at small talk, and the boy seemed so absorbed in his own world.

After what felt like an eternity of indecision, the boy pulled out a notebook and a pen. He began scribbling something, his eyes focused on the page, his brow furrowed in concentration.

Taehyung’s curiosity only grew.

TAEHYUNG’S  POV

“Is he an artist? A writer? What’s he working on?”The train suddenly jolted, causing the boy’s pen to slip, drawing an accidental line across his page.

I sighed softly, staring at the mistake, clearly frustrated.Without thinking, I leaned forward slightly, his voice soft but warm.

“Don’t worry. That line just adds character.”The boy looked up, surprised by the comment, his eyes meeting mine for the first time.

For a brief moment, I felt his heart skip a beat. The boy smiled, a small but genuine smile that reached his eyes.

Boy: “I guess you’re right. Not everything needs to be perfect, huh?”

“Exactly. Sometimes, imperfections make things more interesting.”we shared a brief, comfortable silence before the boy spoke again.

End of pov

Boy: “Are you an artist or something? You seem like the type who’d know about character and imperfections.”

Taehyung chuckled, shaking his head. “Not quite. I’m actually in the military.”The boy raised an eyebrow, surprised.

“Really? You don’t seem like the typical soldier.”

“What’s a typical soldier like?”taehyung asked he looked a bit confused.

Boy: “Tough. Serious. You seem... different.”Taehyung smiled.

“Maybe I am.” He paused for a moment before adding, “What about you? What’s in the notebook?”The boy glanced down at the notebook in his lap, hesitating for a moment before replying.

“I’m just jotting down some ideas. I like to write, mostly poetry.”Taehyung’s interest deepened. There was something gentle, almost fragile, about the boy’s demeanor, yet his presence was strong enough to captivate Taehyung entirely.
