As the train ride continued, the conversation between Taehyung and the boy became more natural. The boy introduced himself as Minho, a university student studying literature.
He had a passion for words and often wrote poetry to express his feelings-things he found difficult to say out loud.
Minho's voice had a soft, melodic quality that Taehyung found soothing. As they talked, Taehyung found himself opening up about his own experiences-the struggles of military life, his complicated relationship with his family, and even his newfound friendship with Jin and Jimin.
Minho listened intently, occasionally nodding or offering a quiet comment.
"It sounds like you've been through a lot."Taehyung shrugged, trying to downplay it. "Everyone has their struggles. I'm just doing what I have to do."Minho looked at him thoughtfully, his eyes softening.
"You're stronger than you realize, Taehyung. Not everyone has the courage to follow their dreams, especially when it goes against what their family wants."
The words struck a chord with Taehyung. He hadn't expected to feel so seen, so understood, by someone he had just met.
As the hours passed, the train journey began to feel less like a mere commute and more like a brief, magical escape from reality.
The world outside the window faded away, leaving only the quiet connection between Taehyung and Minho.
Eventually, the train slowed as it neared Taehyung's stop. The announcement echoed through the carriage, signaling that his journey was coming to an end.
A strange sadness filled Taehyung's chest-he didn't want the conversation with Minho to end.As he gathered his things, Minho closed his notebook and looked up at him.
"It was nice talking to you, Taehyung. I hope you find what you're looking for."Taehyung hesitated, wanting to say more but unsure of how.
There was something unspoken between them, something fragile and new, but he couldn't bring himself to express it.
"Yeah... you too." He paused before adding, "Maybe we'll see each other again."Minho smiled softly, but there was a sadness in his eyes.
"Maybe."As Taehyung stepped off the train and onto the platform, he turned back to see Minho watching him through the window.
The train pulled away, carrying Minho into the distance, leaving Taehyung standing alone. For the rest of the evening, Taehyung couldn't stop thinking about the boy on the train.
It wasn't just the fleeting attraction-it was the connection, the brief but meaningful exchange that had left a lasting impression on him.
For the first time in a long while, Taehyung found himself wondering about something other than his military career.
He wondered if he'd ever see Minho again, if their paths would cross once more. And though he didn't know the answer, the thought of it filled him with a quiet hope.
