Kalim was the sun in Y/N's life, brightening even the dullest days with his infectious laughter and boundless energy. He was a whirlwind of positivity, always the first to lend a hand or bring a smile to someone's face. But beneath that cheerful exterior lay a darker, more possessive side that Y/N was just beginning to notice.
One afternoon, the students of Scarabia gathered in the courtyard to celebrate a successful exam season. Y/N was chatting with a group of friends when Kalim, ever the life of the party, bounded over, his face beaming with excitement.
"Y/N! Come on, let's get everyone together for a game!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling. "We can't let anyone sit around and be boring today!"
As Kalim pulled Y/N away, he noticed the way Y/N's friends smiled at him, their laughter warm and inviting. But there was a subtle shift in Kalim's demeanor. His smile didn't falter, but his grip on Y/N's arm tightened just enough to be noticed.
"Hey, everyone!" Kalim greeted Y/N's friends with a bright, almost too-enthusiastic wave. "I'm so glad you all could make it! Let's make sure Y/N has the best time today!"
Y/N's friends exchanged amused glances, but Kalim's bright energy seemed to overshadow any hesitation they might have had. Y/N could sense an undercurrent of something in Kalim's cheerful tone—a slight edge that suggested he didn't appreciate the attention Y/N was getting from them.
As the day wore on, Kalim was in his element. He led games, shared jokes, and ensured everyone was included. But whenever Y/N laughed at something a friend said or spent too long talking with someone else, Kalim's smile would slip just a fraction, a flicker of something more possessive crossing his face.
"Y/N, did you see that new magic trick I learned?" Kalim said, his voice bright but his eyes glancing sideways at Y/N's friend, who had just made him laugh. "I'll show you right now! It's way more fun than whatever they're talking about."
Y/N felt a pang of guilt at Kalim's enthusiasm, but he couldn't help but feel the tension rising. "I was just enjoying the conversation," he replied, trying to keep the mood light.
Kalim's laughter rang out, but it had a sharp edge. "But wouldn't it be more fun if we made our own memories instead? You and me, like always!" He turned to the group, his smile still intact. "Right, guys? We should let Y/N enjoy the real fun!"
The friends nodded, chuckling awkwardly, unsure how to respond. They loved Kalim's energy, but the underlying hostility made them uncomfortable. Y/N noticed, feeling the weight of Kalim's gaze on him, a mix of protectiveness and something more possessive lurking beneath the surface.

The next day, Y/N decided to go for a study session at the library with a few friends. As they settled down at a table, Kalim appeared as if summoned by some unseen force, his cheerful demeanor brightening the room.
"Y/N! I was just looking for you!" he exclaimed, his eyes darting to Y/N's friends. "I thought we could study together! It's always better when it's just the two of us, right? Jamil gave me some of his notes so I could teach you, just us!"
Y/N glanced at his friends, who were looking at Kalim with a mix of confusion and concern. "Actually, Kalim, we were just about to start, but you can join us if you want," Y/N offered, trying to include him.
Kalim's smile was wide, but his eyes held a flicker of annoyance. "Oh, but I brought some of my favorite books! We could just study in my room instead. It's way cozier and more fun!" He leaned in closer to Y/N, lowering his voice just enough for only Y/N to hear. "We can really focus without distractions."
