Blud was BEGGING FOR IT---
The halls of Diasomnia were eerily silent in the days following Ace's death. The forest outside the dorm seemed darker, the air heavier with an unshakable weight. Y/N sat in their room, knees hugged to their chest, staring blankly at the wall. Their face was pale, their eyes sunken and red from countless hours of crying.
They didn't speak anymore.
Every word seemed pointless. Every tear felt wasted. There was no escape, no hope, and no future.
The others, however, saw this as progress.
---
Malleus watched Y/N intently from his usual spot by their bed. His long fingers brushed through their hair as he whispered softly. "You're finally starting to understand, aren't you? This world is cruel, and only we can keep you safe from it."
Y/N didn't respond, their gaze fixed on nothing.
Lilia entered the room with a tray of food, his demeanor unusually gentle. "I made you something special," he said, setting the tray down on the table beside them. The aroma of the meal filled the room, but Y/N didn't move.
"Come now," Lilia coaxed, sitting beside them. "You need your strength. Let me help you." He carefully picked up a spoonful of the soup and brought it to their lips, his crimson eyes studying them closely. "Good, yes? See, I only want what's best for you."
When Y/N reluctantly opened their mouth, Lilia's smile widened. "There's my good little one."
Sebek stood by the door, arms crossed, his usual sharpness softened to something almost tender. "You'll recover," he stated firmly. "You're stronger than this. And we are here to ensure you never face harm again."
Silver, always lingering in the shadows, approached with a small bundle wrapped in soft cloth. He placed it carefully on Y/N's lap, revealing a collection of flowers he had gathered from the forest. "For you," he said quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. "I thought they might brighten your day."
Y/N stared at the flowers, their trembling hands brushing over the petals. A faint, broken sob escaped their lips, and Silver's heart seemed to twist in his chest.
---
Malleus tightened his hold on Y/N, his arms wrapping protectively around them. "You'll never be alone again," he said softly, his voice filled with possessive affection. "We'll keep you safe, always."
Y/N finally spoke, their voice hoarse and barely audible. "I didn't want this."
Malleus stiffened slightly but maintained his calm demeanor. "You didn't understand what you needed, my treasure. But we did. And now, you're exactly where you belong."
Lilia chuckled softly, though his tone was devoid of mockery. "You'll see in time. Everything we've done has been for your own good."
Sebek's voice was softer than usual as he added, "No harm will ever come to you again. You have my word."
Silver said nothing, but his presence lingered, his gaze filled with quiet guilt as he placed another trinket—a carved wooden star—on the bedside table.
---
The image of Ace's lifeless body haunted Y/N's mind. They saw it every time they closed their eyes, heard his voice every time the silence stretched too long.
But no one spoke of Ace.
Whenever Y/N's eyes filled with tears at the memory, Malleus would gently cup their face, forcing their gaze to meet his. "Do not dwell on the past," he'd whisper. "It is gone, and it cannot hurt you anymore."
