Giving Silver some love <3
Silver had always been a man of few words. Quiet and introspective, he preferred the solace of his thoughts over the noise of social interactions. As a student at Night Raven College, he was used to being overlooked—blending into the background, hidden behind his silver hair and reserved demeanor. But that all changed when he met Y/N.Y/N wasn't the loudest person in the room, but there was something about them that drew Silver's attention. It wasn't just their appearance—though they were certainly striking—it was the way they moved through the world with grace and kindness. The way they listened, really listened, when people spoke to them. The way their eyes seemed to hold stories, and the way they smiled at the people they cared about.
Silver admired them from afar, like a distant star that seemed so close, yet so unreachable. He'd see them in the hallways, sharing a laugh with their friends, or helping a classmate in need. Silver, ever the observer, would linger at the edges of these scenes, wishing he could be a part of their world. But his shy nature held him back. He was always the one standing at the periphery, never daring to step forward.
It wasn't that Silver didn't want to talk to Y/N—on the contrary, he longed for it. But every time he tried to approach them, his mind would go blank, his words would falter, and all he could manage was a stiff smile and a muttered greeting. Y/N, ever polite and kind, would always respond with a warmth that made Silver's heart race, but he couldn't help but feel embarrassed by his own awkwardness.
Then, one evening, everything changed.
It was late, and Silver was walking along the balcony of Night Raven College, the sky above painted in shades of purple and gold as the sun began to set. He had been in the library for hours, buried in his books, but the quiet buzz of the school was starting to wear on him. Sometimes, he needed to step outside, to clear his head, to be alone with his thoughts.
He leaned against the railing, watching the wind stir the trees below, when he heard footsteps approaching from behind. Silver stiffened, expecting it to be one of his friends—perhaps Sebek, always talking at full volume, or Grim, who never seemed to know when to be quiet. But when he turned around, he was met with an unexpected sight: Y/N.
"Hey, Silver," Y/N said with a smile, their voice soft, almost as if they had been looking for him. "I didn't know you were out here. It's nice to get away from everything sometimes, isn't it?"
Silver's heart skipped a beat, and he could feel his cheeks flush as he straightened up. "I... yeah, it's peaceful out here," he said, his voice quieter than usual. "I just needed some time to think."
Y/N smiled warmly, stepping up beside him and leaning against the railing. The setting sun bathed them both in soft light, and Silver couldn't help but steal glances at them, feeling his heart thudding in his chest.
"I get that," Y/N said, looking out over the campus. "Sometimes everything gets a little overwhelming, and it's nice to just... breathe. To be by yourself for a while."
Silver nodded, though his mind was spinning. This was the closest he had ever been to Y/N, and he didn't know what to do. Should he say something? Should he ask them a question? He had so many things he wanted to say, but nothing seemed right. He was afraid that if he opened his mouth, he would only make a fool of himself.
Y/N, seemingly sensing his unease, turned to him and gave him a small, encouraging smile. "You know, you're always so quiet," they said, their voice gentle. "But it's not a bad thing. I think... I think you've got a lot of thoughts, Silver. You just don't always share them with others."
Silver looked at Y/N, surprised by their words. "I don't know what to say," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper. "I'm not good at talking to people."
Y/N tilted their head, a soft laugh escaping their lips. "I don't think you need to be good at talking to people," they said, their tone light but sincere. "You're already good at listening. That's enough."
Silver felt his chest tighten. Y/N didn't see him as awkward or distant—they saw him for who he truly was, and they accepted it without judgment. That simple realization made something inside him shift. He didn't have to be anything other than himself.
"I... I'm glad you think that," Silver said, feeling the warmth of their words settle in his chest.
For a long moment, they stood there in comfortable silence, the world around them fading away as they simply existed in each other's presence. Silver could feel the weight of the moment pressing in on him, and suddenly, he couldn't keep his feelings inside any longer. There was something in his heart that he had been holding back for so long, something he had never had the courage to admit, even to himself. But now, with Y/N standing so close, something urged him to speak.
"Y/N," he began, his voice unsteady. "There's something I've been wanting to tell you."
Y/N turned toward him, their expression open and curious. "What is it?"
Silver took a deep breath, his heart pounding. "I've been... watching you for a while. I mean, not in a creepy way, but... I admire you," he said, his words coming out in a rush. "The way you treat people, the way you care about them. I've never seen someone like you before. And every time I see you, my heart... it just... it races."
Y/N blinked, clearly taken aback by the sudden confession. Silver's face flushed even more, his hands trembling slightly as he struggled to continue. "I don't know how to say this, but I... I've fallen for you, Y/N. I've tried not to. I've tried to push it down, but I can't. You make me feel things I've never felt before, and every time I see you, I just want to be near you. I want to be someone you can trust, someone you can rely on."
For a moment, there was silence. Silver's breath caught in his throat as he braced himself for Y/N's response. Had he ruined everything? Had he made things too awkward? He couldn't look at them, his gaze fixed firmly on the ground, the weight of his words hanging heavily between them.
Then, just when he thought he might disappear into the ground from embarrassment, he felt a gentle hand on his arm. He looked up, and Y/N was smiling softly at him, their eyes warm and understanding.
"Silver," they said, their voice soft but certain. "I've been waiting for you to say that."
Silver's heart stopped. "You... have?"
Y/N nodded, their smile growing wider. "I could tell that there was something special about you from the moment we met. You've always been kind, and I've always appreciated the way you quietly support the people around you. And I... I've noticed you, too."
Silver's breath caught again, and for the first time in what felt like forever, he allowed himself to relax. Y/N wasn't upset. In fact, they felt the same way.
"I think..." Y/N continued, their voice a little hesitant but full of hope, "I think I've fallen for you, too."
Silver's heart soared. He couldn't believe it. His feelings, his silent admiration, had been returned. In that moment, everything fell into place. All the years of quiet longing, of uncertainty, of holding back—they had led him here, to this moment, with Y/N by his side.
He smiled, a real, genuine smile, as Y/N squeezed his arm gently. "I'm glad," he whispered. "I'm so glad."
And as the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting the world in a golden glow, Silver knew that this was just the beginning of something beautiful. They didn't need words to understand each other—just a shared glance, a simple touch, and the knowledge that, for once, they didn't have to hide their feelings. They had each other, and that was enough.
