Lisa sat with her friends, Irene and the others, but her mind was elsewhere. Her eyes were locked on Jero and Rose across the room. Every time Rose leaned in closer to Jero, especially when she touched his face where he had been injured last night, Lisa’s blood simmered with fury.

But she was a master at hiding her emotions. She clenched her fists under the table, her nails digging into her palms, but her expression remained cool and composed. No one in her group would suspect how close she was to snapping.

"Girls, I’m throwing a wild party tonight," Irene announced with a sly grin. "Just us, no boys allowed. We're going to drink until we forget everything!"

"That sounds awesome!" Nayeon chimed in, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Then, she turned to Lisa with a teasing smile. "What about you, Lisa? Are you in, or are you too busy watching a certain someone?"

Lisa tore her gaze away from Jero, barely suppressing the urge to roll her eyes. "Of course, I’m in," she replied, her voice smooth but with an edge that only her closest friends would pick up on.

The group continued their chatter, but Lisa’s mind was still on Jero. She caught him glancing her way, and when their eyes met, she gave him a look that could freeze fire. The message was clear: You're mine, and she'll pay for this.

𝑴𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆...

Jero swallowed hard, realizing that Lisa had noticed everything. The cold fury in her eyes made him uneasy. He shifted slightly in his seat, trying to distance himself from Rose without making it obvious, but he didn’t dare leave. He knew better than to make any sudden moves when Lisa was watching.

Rose, leaned in with a bright smile. "Guys, I’ve got a joke for you!" she exclaimed, her voice cheerful.

Mark laughed. "Go ahead, Rose. We could use a good laugh."

Rose said, “Alright, so here it goes... A man was drowning in the river and started shouting loudly: 'Help! Help!' A passerby on the riverbank asked, 'Don't you know how to swim?' The drowning man replied, 'No, I never learned how to swim.' The passerby said, 'Then learn now; when will you get a better opportunity than this?'”

As the punchline hit, the entire table erupted in laughter, Jero included. But just as the laughter peaked, Rose playfully rested her hand on Jero's shoulder.

From across the room, Lisa saw everything. The laughter, the casual touch, the closeness between Jero and Rose—it all ignited a blaze of jealousy inside her. Her fists tightened, and her heart pounded with a dangerous mix of rage and possessiveness.

Without warning, Lisa shot up from her seat, her chair scraping loudly against the floor. The sudden movement startled her friends.

"Let’s go to the club," Lisa declared, her voice sharp and decisive. "We’ve studied enough for today."

Her friends exchanged knowing looks, smirks playing on their lips. They recognized that edge in Lisa’s voice—a signal that something was about to go down. No one argued; they all stood and followed her lead, ready for whatever the night had in store.

As they left the canteen, Lisa didn’t spare Jero or Rose another glance, but her mind was already racing with thoughts.
