Ryo Namikaze approached Izuku Midoriya, who was nursing a badly injured finger from his powerful throw during the Quirk Assessment Test. With a calm expression, Ryo knelt beside him, his touch gentle yet purposeful.
"Hold still, Midoriya," Ryo said softly, his voice filled with reassurance. "I've been practicing some basic healing techniques... this should help."
A faint, soothing green glow enveloped Ryo's hand as he directed a steady stream of chakra toward Izuku's finger. Slowly, the swelling began to diminish, and the pain seemed to fade away. The class watched in awe, surprised at Ryo's unexpected ability to heal.
"Wow, thank you, Ryo!" Izuku exclaimed, his relief evident as the throbbing pain disappeared. "That feels so much better!"
"Before Ryo could reply, a furious shout erupted from across the training field.
"Deku!" Katsuki Bakugo's voice, sharp and full of anger, echoed through the air. He stormed over, his face contorted in a mix of disbelief and rage. "Where did you get a Quirk all of a sudden?! What's going on?!"
Ryo sensed Bakugo's volatile energy and subtly shifted his stance, ready to intervene if necessary. But before Bakugo could get any closer, a long, scarf-like fabric shot out and wrapped tightly around him, stopping him in his tracks. Aizawa, their teacher, stepped forward, his gaze intense, and his capture weapon restraining Bakugo with surprising ease.
"Bakugo, stand down," Aizawa commanded, his voice calm but firm, his eyes glowing a bright red as he used his Erasure Quirk. "I won't tolerate this kind of behavior in my class."
Bakugo seethed with frustration but reluctantly complied, his movements constrained by Aizawa's binding scarf. Aizawa released his hold and turned his attention back to the rest of the class.
"Let's finish the rest of the test," Aizawa continued, his tone brooking no argument.
The students resumed the remaining tests, each demonstrating their unique abilities. Ryo excelled across all categories, using his agility, speed, and strategic thinking to achieve top scores. When the final rankings were displayed, Ryo found himself in the top position, while Izuku, despite his determination, came in last.Aizawa gazed around the class, his expression unreadable. Then, with a small, amused smirk, he announced, "Oh, by the way, I was lying about expelling anyone. It was a rational deception to make sure you all gave it your best."
A collective sigh of relief swept through the class, and a wave of murmured conversations rippled among the students. Ryo rubbed the back of his neck, exchanging a sheepish glance with Momo.
"Momo and I thought it was obvious he was lying... Sorry for not sharing that earlier," Ryo muttered apologetically.
The tension in the air dissipated, and Mina let out a relieved giggle. After the assessment, the class broke for lunch. Mina, with a bright smile, grabbed Ryo's arm and playfully pulled him over to introduce him to Eijiro Kirishima.
"Hey, Ryo! Meet Kirishima," Mina chirped, her voice full of excitement. "He's got a pretty cool Quirk!"
Kirishima extended a hand with a friendly grin. "Hey, man! Nice to meet you! My Quirk is Hardening—I can make my body as tough as steel!"
Ryo nodded appreciatively, and soon they were all sitting together, chatting animatedly over lunch. They shared stories about their quirks, their aspirations, and their reasons for wanting to become heroes. As they laughed and talked, Ryo felt a warm sense of camaraderie developing.
He found himself enjoying Mina's playful banter and Kirishima's enthusiastic energy.
The next day, Ryo, Kirishima, and Mina sat together again, discussing their expectations for the upcoming lessons. That afternoon, the students gathered in their classroom for their next session—Hero Basic Training.
