"Take your seat and state your name."

I did as I was told "Sakurako."

There was Yuki that looked exactly like me except she didn't really do anything noteworthy, she just behaved like the rest...

All of us White Room students were taught names as one of the ways to identify individuals. I already knew mine because I overheard a woman saying that, my mother? Well I'll probably never know unless I see the face with the same voice.

However, we were young, we weren't told our surnames, and all the instructors called us by our first names. Well, except me.

Although I had no way of knowing it at the time, there would be an inconvenience created by teaching us our surnames. It seems that it was a rule based on the fear that it might lead to the children's identification in the future.

I suppose this was to keep us as dehumanised as possible.

...

We are four years old now, and new curriculums have begun to be implemented one after another.

"Now then, let's commence the test."

The most important of these was a written test. All students straightened their posture and faced the test papers.

The test consisted of five writing systems: hiragana, katakana, the alphabet, numbers, English, the Italian orthography and simple kanji. Since we'd already spent a whole year being thoroughly taught reading and writing when we were three.

There was no hesitation in their fingertips' movements as they held the pen. The students were penalised if they didn't achieve a certain level of performance in a limited amount of time.

In addition, the students were also required to have good handwriting. Even if your handwriting was good, you won't receive any points if you get the answer wrong, but if you write poorly in a hurry, points will be deducted from your score, so we had to be careful.

No one at this facility asked whether or not we can solve the problems we face. This is only true because the only children left were those that were capable of solving them.. Those who couldn't were dropped at the age of three.

During that 1 year period I also tried to get closer to Kiyotaka hugging him whenever I could, which caused another boy to join in as well.

Shiro

Kiyotaka wouldn't smile but Shiro would, which was enough for me but my goal now was to stay by Kiyotaka's side. I'm not leaving him to be alone and suffer from his father's mentality.

Though I'm still making him mess up his introductions when we get to ANHS 100%.

We only managed to hold 1 conversation well, mainly alone while Shiro added on and Kiyotaka just listened.

"Kiyotaka why are you so poopy"

... please I beg one of you talk, my voice is just echo-

"He no want to answer Sakurako"

"I know Shiro but he always has this interesting face"

"What do you mean-"

"Finally you decided to talk, do it again!"

"Ok? But what are going to talk about"

"I don't know just whatever what do you think of us Shiro"

"Sakurako you stinky"

"Most brain rot I've heard so far"

"Wha-"

"Yes Shiro you're right, did you shit yourself again Tsubaki?"

"Who taught you to speak like that Kiyotaka?!"

"Tsubaki that was you"

I could only walk in shame to the bathroom, we already knew how to use them. I cleaned myself up which ended our longest conversation that year.

Wonder how long we would be sharing the same bathroom. Maybe I could get a peak at his developments...
