At Ally and Stevie's place two days before the court date.

"Ally?" I said with a child like pitch

"Yeah Nicole?"

"I just want you to know how grateful I am for everything. You guys are the greatest people I've ever met. A real family that I'm happy to apart of. Wait wait wait, did you just call me Nicole? You've never called me that?" I said ruining what was suppose to be a sentimental moment.

"Haha, yeah. It's your middle name. I think it's really pretty and when I say it I don't feel like I'm talking to myself. And I'm not calling you Alls like Stevie does. Then I feel like you're a man. Do you not like it?" Ally says while using 50 different hand movements that didn't make any sense. What so ever. I guess that's her thing now.

"No I'm fine its just different. I like it though. I just won't know if you're saying to scold me or not. Cause usually the middle name means dissapointed." I tell her laughing because it was the first time I've been called that without being whipped after.

*Stevie walks in trying to push a huge ass box through the door*

"Lady! What are you doing?!" Ally screams while running over there before the tall box falls.

Ally catches the box and lowers it down making sure whatever is inside of it doesn't break.

Stevie has fist on both hips and her eyes are widened. She inhales deeply and then sighs. "This is going to be harder than I thought" she says slightly agitated.

Ally slightly tilts her head to the left and her eyes squinted. She looks Stevie in the eyes "What is this?? How'd you even get this out of the car?"

"Don't look all surprised like I couldn't lift it myself!" With hand on hip and finger pointed at ally being sassy as fuck. "But I did have men lay it outside of the door for me." She says while she puts her head down with shame.

Well Stevie, still. What the hell is it? I ask because she still hadn't answered Ally's first question.

She looks at me and smiles ear to ear as charming as she could possibly be and goes "Well,it's your bed. I have your mattress and bedroom suit out in the car. We can do decorations later."

I sit and pondered. We haven't even won yet. Besides I could've slept on the couch for awhile. I do that anyways. I thought to myself.

"Why did you get me that?" I ask casually.

Confusion is written all over her face. "Well if you're gonna live here you need a room to sleep in. We have an extra room that we haven't known what to do with anyway. It's not like we'd make you sleep on the floor Alls." She says as if I were an idiot.

"Well, but we haven't won the case yet." They could hear my doubt in each word.

"Nicole, the social workers had already came here to make sure this is a good home. That we're good people. They even believe that we'll win this case. Why don't you?" Ally tells me trying her hardest to get me to believe in them.

"Ally,I'm sorry. I just get worried sometimes. After all what I believed in before failed me. My trust issues are kinda high."

"Hold up. No. I'm trying to sypathize here. Really. But we're real. You can see us you can touch us. You can trust us. Now get over here and help me carry your bed into your new room so we can start our new lives as the family we fucking are. Also I'm not strong enough to carry it." Stevie shouts the last at me ending the conversation. So I walked over there and soon we all begun working on making an already beautiful home, fit a place in it just for me.

It feels good to call this place a home. For the first time I can say it and it truly be one.
